You can trade in your old laptop and get a minimum of $400 dollars for it. Yes... a minimum of $400.
You can do this before February 28th to benefit from this. So if you have any junk laptops with you... this is the time to get rid of it. [You can also buy a junk laptop and send it to Sony to get $400 dollars off ]

You can avail this offer when you buy any one of these notebooks.

VAIO® Professional A-Series Business Notebook
VAIO® Professional B-Series Business Notebook
VAIO® Professional S-Series Business Notebook
VAIO® Professional T-Series Business Notebook

Also, you can find out all mail in rebates from Sony for a few of these notebooks mentioned above at this link.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.web-rebates.com/sony/Default.asp">https://www.web-rebates.com/sony/Default.asp</a>

So if you combine these 2 things... you can get one cheap Sony vaio laptop.
Now thats a hot deal.

Njoi.

The "YES I WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE" button doesn't seem to work.

I would love to trade in my old laptop for 400 bucks towards a new one.

if anyone can post more about this, please do!

OK, found the details

Sony Vaio Tradeup details

Expires 2/28/2005

Can't really find anything that fits what I want. Love the Vaio screens, but even with the trade in, they're still about $400-$500 more than I'd spend. To bad the K series aren't included, they've got rebates on them as well.

I have some ancient PII laptop that has no HD (Removed and destroyed to prevent recovery attempts of classified information), no RAM, and the light for the screen has a loose connection and flickers. Think they would take it?

Not sure I will get one of these. If I don't I would let someone else have my laptop to use for the cost of shipping.

about 1100... however, you can trade in multiple computers and get a minimum of $400 each.
trade in has to QUALIFY.

Means, it has to run windows. Has to have the windows sticker (with licenese code). Has to work. And you do have to ship it in.

Tired to enter two, but it didn't work. Looks like you can only exchange one laptop for each laptop you purchase

Don't think so. From the rules page:

General Term and Conditions:

1. This promotion is a one-for-one trade only. You must trade-in one qualifying notebook for a rebate towards the purchase/lease of one eligible new Sony® VAIO® Professional A, B, S, and T Series notebooks.

Am I correct to assume that you have to buy the new laptop from them directly, or can you buy it somewhere else and still qualify? If so, this is a much better deal than it appears to be on the surface because you could look for sales, pricematch, etc. I'm about to have to replace my wife's piece-of-crap vpr Matrix 180B5, and she would absolutely LOVE to have a new VAIO instead.

Edit: You only have to buy the laptop from an authorized Sony dealer, which should cover all the major retailers, making this a really sweet deal. My wife is going to be very happy about this (as soon as I get done suing Best Buy in small claims court to get the money to buy the new laptop).

If i get it right, you have to buy this from Sony itself i guess.

It can be a non working laptop as well.

If it is non working you will get a min. of $400.

Otherwise you may get more than $400.
