stick with the tennis ball. it's batteries won't ever dye and allow you to run into your lawn tractor.

yeah I agree the tennis ball will end up more reliable. Just remember to turn off your wipers before entering the garage.

No offense Injury, but on that line of thinking, why not just learn to judge the size of your car better? Then you are a better driver everywhere, not just in your garage. ('your' is generic referring to the public at large, not you specifically) - that's maybe a gallon of gas, which is still amazingly less than $6/gallon.

I have trouble buying from a company that won't even take the time to proofread their item descriptions.

"Battery operated, LaserPark automatically comes on when the garage door opener is turned on, and off a few minutes."

"Once install, you need do nothing but change a battery every couple of years. "

"Andhesive mounts"

What's wrong with the tennis ball system? Simple and cheap. My father's been using it for 30-40 years now. He uses a wiffle ball about the size of a golf ball instead of a tennis ball, but its the same concept.

Me, I use plastic trashcans and park by feel.

Um... so, you puncture the tennis ball to put a knotted string into it, right?

My garage is kind of short, and there are no lights (no electricity) inside. I think the ball would help me.

what's this tennis ball method you guys speak of...

you hang a tennis ball from the roof of your garage so that when your parking your car, at the exact location you want, the tennis ball hits your windsheild, eir go, when you hit the ball, your in the right spot.

Come on... do you guys have that much distance perception problems that you can't park properly in your garage? I just line up with a certain box on the side, but usually I don't do that at all. I just judge how much space I have left in front of me... You don't get a tennis ball when parallel parking.. so why use one to begin with.

In Chicago, they call it "parking by braille." It's been used for years in public parking lots.

I have a large garage, so I don't have this issue, but I have also seem many garages with bumper impressions in the back wall. I would use the tennis ball method in smaller garages. Cheap and it works.

Well, here in Texas, we all drive trucks and Suburbans. My Suburban has exactly 6 inches room in front and back when I park it perfectly.

Which is why I need the tennis ball, BTW.

The tennis ball treatment is much older than twenty years.

Here's what I do ...I put a bag of concrete mix in front of the right front tire on my wife's car. If ever I need concrete for a project it's readily available. And the front wall of the garage lives! The tennis ball won't stop the car. The conrete will.

The tennis ball method is pretty good if you have a tight garage. A more refined system is to have two strings suspended, maybe two feet apart. Both are lined up so that they are dead center of the driver's head, one set to hit the windshield when the car is fully pulled in, the other maybe a few feet directly in front of it. Line the two strings up when you are coming in and you know you won't be banging either side of the garage, as well as pulling it in the proper distance.

It's a perfect system for getting a wide car in a narrow garage. I still think twenty cents worth of string and a used ball makes more sense than a more expensive and technologically complicated device. If you have an older relative around this is a nice thing to install for them.

I park a Chevy Silverado crew cab in my garage with not much room to spare, tennis ball method works perfect.

I'm surprised so many people use this tennis ball thing. Hell, I hadn't even heard of it before. And I even park in a little garage.

Thanks for the explanation. Never had to use the tennis ball method but it's a good thing to know.

I made one myself out of a couple of laser pointers and a 6 volt adapter I had laying around.

It's not always a matter of hitting things in your garage, it's getting a perfect park job everytime, so you don't ding the door of the wife's car next to your's, so you can always get the garden tools out of the garage without worrying if you're going to run them up the side of the car, and having enough room to stand at a work bench where you can actually work without sitting on the hood of your car!

Yeah, if you can't park the average car in the average garage then it's safe to say you are a tard, but nobody is good enough to park their car in the exact same perfect spot day after day

I think the correct word you're looking for is ergo (latin for therefore)
