Wow--amazingly getting to look more like Firefox. I have to stick with FF though until IE has as many extensions, etc...

I'm not specifically worried about extension style tweaking, but it's just not customizable enough. You can't not have the address bar at the top, you can't change the position of the back/forward/stop/refresh/home buttons, and they put 400 extra things on the tab-bar. That's just not going to fly.

I still like the functionality that SlimBrowser provides better. It's like using IE 6 with tabbed browsing. I don't know why more people don't use this.

Question about this, just cuz I haven't looked too much into 64bit vs 32. I thought 64 bit support just allowed for greater memory addressing? How would this benefit a web browser?

I come across the occasional poorly writen website that isn't writen to proper web standards and won't work with FF. But the speed, customization, relatively few security holes, and oodles of extentions available seem to make FF superior, even though IE picked up tabbed browsing.

Heck, Fasterfox and AdBlock alone have sped up my surfing a good deal.

Are there any benefits of this IE7 beta over Firefox?

does IE7 allow you to arrange your windows within the main window (tile, cascade...etc) like Opera/Avant? IMO that feature is a MUST have in any tabbed browser, it's also one of the reasons I don't use FF anymore (in addition to slow load times, and IE being standard at work)

Directions to turn ie7 into standalone browser. I tried it and it works great. Taken from a digg post.

* Extract IE7B2P-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe to a temporary folder. I suggest winrar.
* Working within' the extracted directory, delete the following:
o update (folder)
o install.ins
o spmsg.dll
o spuninst.exe
o spupdsvc.exe
* Create a blank text file within' the directory and rename it to "iexplore.exe.local"
* Move the directory to a location in which you want to store the now standalone version of Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 (eg. My Documents).
* Execute iexplore.exe.

There's a "quick tabs" feature that shows snapshots of the open tabs in the main window.

Does it come with BorkSpeak? Abe Vigoda Status? EggOn? How about the Homeland Security Threat Monitor?

No? No thanks.

well. you have people like me that have those "porly written websites" taking up more than half of the favorites list (yeah, it really sucks. wish they learned how to properly code in HTML). I was forced to spawn multiple IE sessions up until now, so I am really looking forward to trying this out. The only thing though, I dont feel too comfortable with anything Microsoft AND beta, so I will wait a bit till the official version rolls out.

Anyone else getting:

RUNDLL

Error loading C:\windows\system32\msfeeds.dll
The specified procedure could not be found.

Happens during install at about 47%. Using a new SATA drive, freshly loaded from scratch just a couple of weeks ago.

Two things missing:

#1: They need to add the Search stuff (google, dictionary) etc.

I love being able to highlight a word then right click and search = opens up new tab in google etc.

#2: They need the ability to have my bookmarks toolbar with my favorites, like FF/Opera. I am spoiled to being able to just middle click on the icons on the top without actually going to Favorites->*

NM on #2: Enabled the Links toolbar and it works the same.

Pay for windows.

dumb @ss

You're the dumb@ss for pirating software and then asking on a public form how to bypass a protection method.

BTW, I've seen a few vacations for questions like this, hope you have a nice trip.
