Guys, It'll probably uninstall just fine.

I know mine didn't show in Add/Remove as it should either, but due to an unrelated major hickie, I did run the uninstall and it reverted to IE6 as it should.

To be sure, Open 'Windows Explorer' and then the 'Windows' folder.

You'll need to have 'Hidden Files and Folders' showing. Use 'Folder Options' under 'Tools' to enable that.

Near the very top of the Windows folder you should see this Folder: $NtUninstallie7bet2p$

If that's there, and it should be, you're all set.

Open that folder, then the 'spuninst' folder and when your ready, with all other windows closed, run 'spuninst.exe' .

_____

BTW, that's the proceedure to uninstall any Win Update that may be giving you troubles.

That's the lot of them, at the top of that Windows folder.

It shows in Add/Remove Programs. It is listed as a Windows Update and thus you must check off Show Updates.

If you ran IE7 without installing using hte page 3 (I think 3) hack, if you properly install IE7 and then uninstall it, IE6 resumes proper functionality.

I got so fed up with it that I uninstalled, or I did not uninstall it, you can't. So I did a system restore from last week to get my IE6 back. I don't like firefox, I use Opera when I want tabbed browsing and I use "Off by one" when I want security and a lightening fast browser. The buttons on IE7 were just bizarre. I hope the final version is better than this.

Please refrain from speading misinformation. The browser is easily uninstallable.

Both situations are true:

1) If it happens to show in Add/Remove Programs, Show Updates will need to be checked.

2) It is a know issue that It may well not show in Add/Remove Programs, but should still uninstall from the Windows folder... which is all Add/Remove Programs is linking to anyway.

Yeah, it did not show, and the other thing that was funny was that I could not find the installation folder either. I did tonight, now I admit that when I installed it I just clicked the defaults as it went throught the installation without paying attention. So tonight I am going through my e drive (drive is split in two) it was installed on that drive, not the c: drive! (was not put there for lack of space, I don't know why it went there.) As I said I did a system restore to remove it, now that I found the intall folder I deleted it too. You are right, I could have uninstalled it there, if I know where there was. hehe Maybe I should pay more attention next time. Nah...

Liked it overall. Though the button placement as commented above is a bit bizzare. Had to remove when I found out killed madden 2k6 online play.

Went in to this open minded and i like it. only 2 things i noticed that i dont like at well as opera so far.

1) no mouse gestures.
2) no close button on each tab until you open the tab.

I could live without the close boxes on the tabs like opera, but not having mouse gestures is a deal breaker. that ability to back out of athread by holding the right mouse and clicking the left is one of the best ideas ive ever seen on a browser.

They wouldn't let you use Firefox or Maxthon? Nazis!

I've pretty much converted my entire company over to Firefox, even my boss loves it, we're about 2 steps from making it mandatory to stop spam and crap like that.
