Looks like maybe Firefox and Opera hybrid??.... also I think that ClearType is turned on within IE7 for some reason... thanks

The stop and reload buttons are in the dumbest location ever conceived, Jesus how did that make it past Beta 1?

The menu bar under the URL bar by default and not movable?

8 Meg minimum temp file.. nice one.

Get that Favorites Center and Add/Subscribe button the hell out of my tabs way.

Other then that it's fine..

Hmmm Firefox hasn't been terribly stable for me while IE5 never crashes, but then again I use FF about 95% of the time.. Plus I have gobs of memory leaks with Firefox. I have to close it out and restart it at least once or twice a day.. That's what you get when people work for free.

So when you install this Beta, does it replace your existing IE6 installation or does it leave IE6 alone in case you are having issues with certain websites (like some of the IE-only websites my job requires me to use). If it replaces IE6, I'll just have to stick with Firefox for my tabbed browsing goodness.

If you uninstall IE 7, IE6 will be restored with all your settings preserved.

The one thing I think IE has over FF right now is 64 bit support. Assuming they release IE 7 in both 32 and 64 like they have IE 6.

yup...i agree

seems to work well, adn speed is good. however, the tool bars and buttons are in the weirdest places, and even if you unlock toolbars you can't manipulate their placement

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. I just turned off the "classic" toolbar off. The rest of the buttons don't really bother me, but it would be nice to be able to move them around..

many sites that I am frequent on dont work with FF/Opera, so this is a welcome news for me.
Just about the only reason I am using Opera is tabbed browsing... for those of you who downloaded it, do the tabs stay upon closing the browser the way they do in Opera? FF was annoying cuz you had to download a seperate plugin for that and I didnt bother learning how to do set it up right. Well, I liked Opera's interface better in general anyway, which is why I ditched FF.

Yeah, I have had a few problems with the Beta, too. I like where they are going with it, but it's not quite ready for me.

Pros:
Tabbed browsing and ease of opening new tabs
The ability to restore all previous tabs if IE closes for some reason
The favorites center

Cons:
My WRT54G's DD-WRT firmware pages don't display correctly (BIG white blob on each page)
Can't put the "Classic" menu at the top where it should be
TERRIBLE stop and reload button location
Some other pages don't display correctly (IGN, etc.)
It broke my direct-login FTP links!

The FTP and router issues were the killer for me. It's back to IE6 until the final comes out.

I can't use FireFox at work anymore. And then they made me get rid of Maxthon too. I was beginning to fiend with 12 windows of IE running at one time. This has saved me more then most can possibly know. Now does anyone know if IE7 is going to get some Plug-ins or something? Hopefully, if nothing else they get an adblock type plug-in for it.

Yah if I could ATLEAST get the refresh and stop over by the back/forward that would be wonderful. The classic menu I guess isn't so bad since like you did it can just be removed.

I wish the Tab bar was totally dry though, just leave it for tabs only.
