Unlike most crap OM chairs, this is actually a good chair.

Item # 01223982 -- go to officemax.com and see if you like it.

This is what you need to do:

1. Call OfficeMax order by phone 1-800-283-7674

2. Tell them that there seems to be an error on the page, where the price no longer reflects the $70 rebate. Tell them that you know people who bought it yesterday (Mon 7/9) for $59.98 (which reflects teh $129.98 minus $70 instant rebate), but can't get seem to get that price online.

NOTE: This is TRUE because I know people who bought it yesterday and there is another AnandTech thread about the chair for that price.

They will basically offer you the chair for the $59.98 price.

3. Next, ask them to apply a $10 off $50 coupon. (Go find this on your own).
Note: This is an *in-store* coupon but they will accept the coupon if you give them the full ISBN number of the coupon.

They will give it to you for $49.98 WITH free shipping (because original price was > $50).

It worked for me.

EDIT: Not fraud, but definitely something seriously fed up in their system. I recieved a PM from someone (ty btw) and noticed you could get a ton of different prices all for the same chair (aight, 3 different prices ). Hell of a deal for people who got in on it

What a coincidence! I got mine shipped today and had it put together in 5 min. I think for $60 this is a great deal. But beware, it does not have a neck rest, and I would not really recomend it if you use it for more than 2 hours a day/person. Unless you don't have the money, go for a better chair. But definately a steal! Here is what i did:

I got this chair (01223982), 3 boxes of 24 pound brigtness 90 paper (total of 18 reams), and 300 envelopes for $102.xx. That gave me free shipping and I could use a $20 off 100 to bring the total after tax and shipping (free) to $82.xx. I know I can sell one ream of 500 pages of that paper for $5. If I sell 16 of the 18 reams, I have $80 back, and got this stuff basically for free! Best of all, NO REBATES, NO PRICEMATCH! Awesome deal IMHO.

Depends on your age! If you aren't past your 20s do this:

Buy a better chair for around $400 (go to a special store and ask for personal assistanc)
Go swimming twice a week. Sweimm free style and breststroke
go see a chyropracticer. If you have a good one in your area, they are really worth their money

In the meantime, I noticed that this chair talked about in this post smells a bit "new". But I hope that will go away.

i'm gonna go to the local officemax today and try out the chair. cant get a office chair for 50 - 60 bucks anywhere else. if its not too bad, i'll buy it (that is IF the deal still works)

It was $59.98 for a week or so, then th sale "ended" yet it still posted all over the site except on the actual item apge. I called and got one for that $59 price. But I live in alaska, so they charged me $89. Still a good deal.

Well, I just spent 90% of my spending money... I called the 800 number and checked to verify that the chair had a $70 IR. They confirmed it, so I went to OM to get the chair. Tried it out, and it was decent. Was pretty solid, but still better than my old chair, and at $60, I couldn't pass it up. I also bought a box of paper for $20. Total was $87, and I tried using the prinatble $15 off $30, but they didn't accept it since they had to manually put in the price. Maybe I should have fought it more. In all, I spent about $85

i just went to the local (lawrenceville, NJ) officemax with a printout of the OM webpage showing $70 rebate. they had 69 of these chairs left over. i guess thats why they still honored the printout even though the rebate ended on sat. although i did try to talk the guy into giving me a more comfortable chair of the same price with the rebate. but i guess he was smarter that i thought he was.
anyways...bought the chair and a small notebook for $66. chair's OK...nothing tooo special. actually its kinda hard...but definately a good buy for $60. doesnt have proper neck and head support...and the handles are hard. maybe i'll go to brookstone and see if they have any addon neck support kinda thing.
