cejay, a friend of mine ordered a Maxtor HD from Staples.com and used a $40 off 200 coupon. When he got the item, he went to the store to return it, and they didn't take into consideration the fact that he used a coupon. Your mileage may vary, but I know that my store accepts returns.

of course it would! the coupon is only to be used when all three items are bought, can you do it? sure, but you cannot argue that it is ethical.

Depending on the person, it may be ethical or not. The deal at hand, for me at least, does not involve ethics. I wouldn't have a problem return the software or even the PDA. That's me.

I can just see the line of people without receipts returning their visor deluxe units.. unopened.

The guy who returned the hard drive.. didnt't he have to show a receipt or something? or did they just not see the 40$ off 200$ on the packing slip? sigh..
I have a Palm IIIc and a new ipaq 3135.. I don't need this visor deluxe.. but guess WE will see what happens..

cejay, when he returned it, they didn't even bother him for the packaging slip up close. He flashed it to them. His intent was not to fool them. It was their own fault for not seeing total on the slip.

3: they cancel / run out of stock of one of the software titles, and take off coupon and hit our CC with $180.

i'm not familiar with past staples deals gone bad, but if they do charge your cc with more than what you authorized ($59.95) then they'd be in big legal trouble

If they send you an email notification saying that it is out of stock, I would try to order one again. They told me that the HP 215 camera was out of stock (via email of course), but I tried a minute after I received that email and the second one went through.
