I just called them up (everything else was OOS, so I ordered the $199 orange one), and the lady said I should receive my credit wednesday (staples sucks with giving credit back). Anyhow, she mentioned the graphite one was in stock in my area, but oddly it wasn't on the website...I wasn't going to take a risk on it though. She was pretty shocked to see that the coupon code was for the FREE visor, and not the software though. Oh well.

*edit* still sleepy, i yesterday in place of wednesday, heh

Ah, well that was quick.
The guy said that the only colors in stock are Green and Orange. I asked why they were $199 and the others were $149. He told me the orange and the green were more popular (Ha!) so thus the $50 difference.
Because I didn't want to pay the extra $50 and get stuck with some crap software and canceled the order. I might have gotten around it if I would have hung up and tried again, but I caved in.
Good luck to everyone else with a little more balls than me

I'm not saying staples as a whole is after us but since a specific item was removed and even a coupon that was legit was removed, someone there is playing around, who the heck would want the crappy software without the visor. haha.. anyway, yeah it sucks for the legit people who ordered it before that might be affected.

I ordered the Orange $199 one, I wonder if I will have better lucky than the rest of you who ordered the $149 colors.

Guess we'll find out.

<< so who if anyone u think migh t get this? >>

Personally, I think it's wait and see. I'm betting if you're lucky enough to get an order confirmation (and thus all your products on the order status page) you'll get your items, but I'm no expert on Staples CRM model and business operations.

It took quite a bit of re-clicking, but finally it let me order a blue one and the software.

Final price was $59.95 + tax. I really hope it comes, but I'm not holding my breath.

Edit: Order status removed the Handspring, leaving just the software. I cancelled the order. Bummer.

<< moolman that sucks.

I still see 2 shipments in 'order status.' One has the Handspring visor, the other has the two pieces of software. They are still in the "processing" status.
>>

I only have one order and it doesn't have any Visors in it.

Looks like I'm getting the broom stick!

One question, if they pricematch it for you, you have 2 options that they give you: 1. place order with them right away 2. they send you price match confirmation via email. This is what the CSR told me about the pricematched policy.

How can you use the coupon in either case? I don't want to tip them off if I tell them the coupon code by telephone. Any suggestions?

If staples ends up just sending the software without the visor you can refuse shipment (no charge to you) or take it to b+m or return from what i hear. So if they end up sending any of us just the software staples will have to take the loss.

Check your order status. Staples has decided to be a bit more underhanded.
My status is shows processing (with my visor shipping tomorrow!), but they corrected the coupon to read 60 dollars. They did not email me any notice. That is decidedly illegal - you cannot simply decide to correct something and charge me 100 dollars more than I authorized. Considering I have a printed copy of the receipt, I think my cc company would have not problem charging back on this. I have no problem with them canceling the orders but they are making a big mistake trying to correct the price up.

After you place your order, you might want to check your email confirmation carefully. When I placed my order on the web, it had the $150 off coupon. However, when I received the email confirmation, it had the coupon code listed as only $60 off.

Yes, they seem to be 'fixing' the problem now by taking the Visor out after you order or leaving it in at regular price and taking out the software and coupons. Seems to me the logical thing would have been to kill the coupon, and fixing it, instead of playing with orders after they are made. They must like testing out their phone system.

Woo Whoo! I get nothing but software for the same price.

We're not the data entry people that put in the coupon amount incorrectly into their database. Seems they're taking thier frustrations out on the customers.

I ordered 3 of these about 45 min ago. Got email confirmation on all 3 orders and the $149 coupon is listed on all 3. I also used a 20 off 100 for the green visor (called and got a credit of $50 on it) and did the same with the orange visor (but think i had to use a 15 off on that one. I didn't have to get the $50 adjustment on the graphite one because it was priced correctly at $149 (not $199 like the other 2).
So....one for $50.40
......one for $64.13
......one for $55.40

Not bad at all. Everyting is still listed as processing in the order status so guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the great deal!

btw...does anyone know where the $149.xx staples coupon for this deal originated? It was put out by staples, right? but they are saying it's erroneous now.

The A-effect... Too much to handle on it's own, too powerful for others to handle... Has toppled down right on it's @$$. Instead of a hot deal, this thread will turn into a dramatic story of people telling their lost battle for a PDA which the evil staples has underhandedly snatched from them. We shall mourn for those who were taken at the price of $160+.
