What's the difference between SATA and SATA 150?

i ordered this one 160GB Seagate Baracuda this morning.

now i found this thread and made me wonder did i just made a fool decision by not paying 3 extra bucks for 40 more gb.

someone can explain the difference?

if you have a serial ata controller, you have nothing to worry about.

After my build, Seagate rebates were the first to get back to me, followed by a BB rebate on a seagate drive. 5 weeks.

wrong. samsungs are quieter. i heard recent hitachis are at least as quite as seagates. plus its idle noise that really counts for most part anyway...

Here here, I second that. It is super quiet. I have the 1604N and I have it set on ATA133 and performance and I still can't hear it.

I have two of these from the Dell deal. I love them. Blazing fast and quiet on the spin. There is some read/write noise but it is bearable. RAID 0 all the way baby.

These are true SATA drives and not cheap PATA with a bridge chip.

You will need SATA power connectors and cables. Get your cables from bestbyte.net.
