Curse you vfrjim for posting this deal! I'm going broke saving money.

I figured I swing by the local Home Depot (Santa Clarita, CA) to see what they might have for sale. Soon my cart was overflowing with a *nice* ceiling fan with remote ($149 - 60 = $90), a Black and Decker 3 in 1 SandStorm sander ($35.96 after 40% Off, I think I got the last one.) , a *really* nice bathroom faucet ($99 marked down to $70 - 40% = $42) and all sorts odds and ends.

Here's an odd one: They had cans of that expanding foam insulation marked down to 50 cents a can from something like $7 a can. After the 40% discount it was 30 cents a can. It looked like they started with a ton of these but they were going fast.

Hi, Mercenary & others:

Where did you guys get the B&D multi tool for only $50? The homedeopt here, Maryland, still have it for $99 -40%?

Thanks,!!

Saw 1 gallon Ralph Lauren "Polo White" interior paint marked down from $26 to $16. For the snooty painters out there who demand designer paint. Sure to impress your guests. I didn't know Ralph was a chemical engineer AND fashion designer.

Many yellow tag items were marked down much less than 40%, although I didn't see an "up to" on the sign.

Ok I visited my local Home Depot tonight and here's what I found:

A LOT OF STUFF MARKED 40% OFF!!!

Walked into the SE 82nd Ave Home Depot in Portland, Oregon (close to Clackamas) after visiting the next door Linen N Things where I successfully used a $5 off $15 coupon

Go to your right, there's a small cluster of yellow baloons with clearance stuff there. There are also clearance items through out the entire store, just look for a YELLOW tag or YELLOW BALOON.

Here's an example of the stuff I found:
GE 2.4 GHz cordless phone (model 27910GE1) was $39.90, clearanced down to $37 less 40% = $22.20 final price

Black & Decker VersaPak 7.2V Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (model VPD850K) clearance priced at $39.97 less 40% = $23.98 final price

Black & Decker FireStorm 12.0V (model CD431K) clearance priced at $65.97 less 40% = $39.58 final price

Manager Mid Back Fabric Chair (model 612-HF) clearance priced at $89 less 40% = $53.40 final price

Home Depot was busy but it was no where near chaotic like a Staples or OfficeMax would be during a huge sale. If you haven't gone to Home Depot definitely go there Friday night because the outside sign clearly states NO RAINCHECKS. The Black & Decker stuff was flying off the shelves, when I first walked in there were 20 units when I left there were 9 left. 11 sold within a period of 60 minutes, that's fast!

Hope this info helps some of you.

I bought 17 boxes of engineered hardwood flooring - normally $67 for $38 each. Saved about $600. I am glad I held out!!!

Aquastar tankless water heater 125B <-- AWESOME UNIT!!!! - normally $475 for $230 WOW!!!!!!!

2 packs of spiral style compact flourescent lights 14 watts as much light as a 60 watt - normally $10 for $5.31

45 ft Commercial hose - normally $40 for $23.99

GREAT POST!!! Go throughout the whole store if and look for any yellow tags of any kind and knock off 40%!! Good stuff won't last long.

<< Loote1, they have lots of routers and swithces but its not ethernet. >>

Good one!!! You missed all the bits and packets...

I did snag some good deal on low voltage outdoor lighting at 40% off so you all may want to check it out too. Also got some decent pumps for water gardens (can you say "water-cool" overclockers? jk ) Now if I can only get 40% off labor for someone to dig out a little fish pond in my backyard.

IIRC, they DO carry switches of the networking kind. I think I saw some in last sunday's ad. Don't know if they're 40% off tho. Probably still be overpriced.

Actually they do sell ethernet stuff but most of it is for putting in a built in location, I waschecking it out and it is not cheap but would be kind of cool to have a all those wires running down to my utility room like on This Old House with all the video and, Cable, and Cat5.

If your HD still has the Cordless 12 FIrestorm multi tool at 99 then there will be no discount. How odd 2 of the stores I went to in Texas both had it at 69. Ask them to check the price.

Looks like they have taken it off their website they must be clearing them out. My store had an add for it. Wish I had grabbed a copy...

cordless 7.2V drill B&D: $12 (some left)
RTX-4 roto tool B&D: $23 (all gone)
28' aluminium ladder/225 lb max: $106 (some left). This is specially nice, these things are never on sale, going to return the $238 one I bouth to put up chritsmas lights
other things: coffe griders/microwave ovens/toaster overs/coffe makes/folding chairs and tables.

and my favorite was a really good utility knife with 100 blades for 60 cents. The yellow sign says $10, but the stuff was so dusty it must have had the yellow sign for years. Now I have a lifetime supply of 300 blades.

We HAD 4 of them, people got a killer deal on that one, Lots of Sharp Microwave ovens, 1150 watts, was $150/ now approx $50!! Go to your LOCAL Home Depot now, while the pickin's are S-W-E-E-T!!

Damn none of the microwaves were on yellow tags. BTW the same exact Murray Tractor/riding lawn mower 14.5 HP was being cleared out 3 months ago at Lowes for 550.

It varies by store. Yesterday I got a real good deal, posted above on a 18V not the crappy 12v Firestorm Drill/Driver. The other store didn't have anything like that. I went to the store again that I went to yesterday and got the BD Reciporcating saw for 60 bucks. The same store yesterday had the 16 gallon wet dry vac, reg 99, down to 79, then 40% off=55ish bucks, but there were none left. They also had a better 16 gallon vac reg 129, down to 99, then 40% = 60 but it was an open box so I didn't grab it. The other store I went to today had a nice water stand with a filter, u fill the bottle (5 or 15 gallon thingy) with tap water and it filters it. Then you can pick cold or temp. warm water. reg 150, down to 125, 40% = 75.

Man I spent about $300 bucks at 2 stores in MA and I still got to go to the one in Connecticut.

Store in Round Rock, TX had those ugly colored sharp microwaves for 57-40% = about $35, plus they have a MIR for $10 = ~$25! That's dirt cheap for a brand new microwave. They are really small, which would be perfect for a dorm.

Got a Black & Decker cordless drill $11.99, not fancy, but what I need.

Hampton Bay 52" ceiling fan with 6-way remote and light kit was $129, sale price $69, after 40% $41.40.

2 42" ceiling fans w/light kits $11.94 ea.

Our store had the Ralph Lauren flat "polo mallet white" interior for $9/gallon less 40% = $5.40/gallon. I think that the regular price was around $24/gallon.

Thanks for posting this!

Hello kimwipes..

I went to the one at Murray. Although not a yellow tag item, we got the Skil 5275-22. It came with a case and, since the ad on the web claimed, they thru in a fence. I guess this is not included any more, but the web ad said it was!

Also, it was $59.95, and the web said $57, so my wife will get a price match. So I guess she will get it for the $57 less $6!
Good Deal!
Otherwise did not see much...expected a lot more yellow tags!
