Of course not! Just read through the thread, u will see how much people can get for $19000.
Back in 98, when the new Accord just came out, we bought our LX-V6 for $22650 out of door. Back then, this is a good price to pay, consider how new the model was and everybody wanted one.(believe it or not, we had to wait for V6 because 99% of Accord in the garage were 4 cyclinder's)Now, I read some people are paying just $100 more to get EX-V6 now...Oh well, time has changed~

We would have to pay close to 25k if we were to get EX-V6.
This is probably off topic, but I don't think Accord V6 engine is the best in class. Just recently, I drove a Camry i-4, I was surprise how smooth and torquey the engine was, then I drove a Buick Century, the interior is crap..but the V6 engine is definitely smoothier than my Accord V6. I don't know why...but having the alternator repaired probably don't help the situation either.

The Maxima is a car with a great engine, but stay away from the automatics. Nissan makes the worst automatics, they bow out at about 80-85k. It's almost as reliable as domestic transmissions. I had 2 go up on me on my old Maxima. I have heard similar problems with the last 3 generations of Nissan automatics. It's no doubt the their V6 is the best powered as compared to Hondas and Toyotas, but I would stick with Honda and Toyota auto transmissions anyday. We've had Honda and Toyota autos last over 200k on the first tranny!
Now, only if they made a RWD Maxima with a 6 speed transmission! I'll be lining up for one. Darn, that is the G35 with a 6 speed due to hit the showrooms this winter. Only if I could've lived without AC this summer.

Guys, i'm a newbe here. This thread gives me lots info. I'm also thinking of get a new accord. I thought there should be some deal nearby (i'm in NJ). Yesterday, I went to hillside honda dealer, they advertised LX for $16,595 (with or w/o side airbags, same price, destination fee included). I told the dealer that somebody here get it for near $15,444; he said he would like to buy one for that price. I asked him how long could their price last; he said as long as supply lasts. So I don't think they count in the $1250 in the price. Am i right? he also give me $18,995 for EX. So how do you guys think about it? Any experience in NJ?

Since the newly redesigned 2003 Honda Accord models are here now, the "old" 2002's are flying out of the showrooms ... most of them are OUT OF STOCK on the LX model. If I were you I'd buy the LX for $16,595 WITH the side airbags (not only for safety but resale value later on). That is a 4 door with automatic transmission, right? Maybe you can get them to toss in some freebies like floor mats and/or trunk liner?
If you wait too long, the 2002's will be gone and you'll be stuck paying STICKER on a new 2003.

Thank you RossMan. Haha, the funny thing is that it was your loss leader prices that made me thought $16595 for LX ( yes, 4-door and auto with ULEV engine) was not a good deal to me comparing to other guys around $156**. There are a few LXs in their parking lot. Maybe in this price they won't go so quickly.
