I'm glad i'm not the only one annoyed by this. I keep hitting what should be ctrl+t for a new tab in firefox, only to have it do nothing and me have to look down to see what the hell to press. Pretty frustrating..Was looking around online for something to remap the Fn and Ctrl keys, but haven't found anything yet.

I actually had to return the first laptop I got. The screen went scrambled whenever I pressed any buttons on the keyboard. I removed the cover and checked out the connection, but it didn't help. 2nd one is working great though

Well I am annoyed trying to install 32bit XP on this, apparently the disk if formatted with GPT and not MBR. Can't seem to find a way to change it in the XP setup.

Has anyone been able to find a 9 cell battery for this notebook cheaper than Gateways price? Trying to find a cheaper option than dumping $200 on Gateway.com

Just pickup a new 2.5" HD and replace the one that is in it. Problem solved.

This has nothing to do with the formatting, its not recognizing the sata interface.
You need to stream the sata drivers into the xp disc so the hardrive shows up in the install.

Google nlite for details on how to add the sata drivers to the boot disk.

after that you will be in the hell i am in now, trying to hunt down the right xp drivers....

I called at 11AM today, was told they still had 12 left. I bought one and they are holding another for a friend of mine.

Thanks, figured that out and am halfway into setup now, will be working on drivers once it's done, I wish you luck and if you find them all before I do I would appreciate some directions

Went to the Boise ID. store yesterday and asked the clerk if they still had this. he said no i sold the last one just a few minutes ago. So i say ok, and continue to brows the other options. he comes up to me 5 minutes later and say we still have 4 of these left. I say OK, how much, he replies $622.00. In short they wouldn't price match. so I walked away.

However. My wife went in today and asked if they had any available. the told her yes for $524.00, so she bought me one because it's my birthday.

Moral of the story, get a wife who can get the low price, and check again with different CSR's/managers so they can lower the price for you.

Not quite the deal that alot of you are getting, but it is definitely a pretty good laptop.

I'm the friend of Mr. Dennis885. I called at 130pm or so. They gladly reserved mine until the end of the day. I went in to pick it up at 4pm. It was there and the Comcast Coupon was accepted although after a great deal of confusion as to why it rang up 0.00. I offered my advice of clearing and rescanning everything and she did that. Same thing the second time around. So I then said, "isn't there a total button or something?" She told me there was. I said, "can you try to hit that?" She did and the total showed up 370.99 (including 21.00 tax). I'm sending my Mom up there now. When I was there they said there were 8 or 9 left. I wonder why they had so many at this store? Seems weird why they'd sell these so cheap. I wonder how much profit they're making per unit?
