Freestuff09, how did you get it pricematched to $350? The BB in Marysville (where I bought mine) states that they only pricematch to BB's that are local, and I am not aware of any BB's here that sold the laptop for less than $524 (excluding HSI coupon).
That's a big YMMV, and you're very lucky. None of the Best Buy stores in my area will pricematch clearance items. When they pricematch regular items, they only do it if the other store is local and if the other store has those items in stock. On clearance + not local + out of stock = no workie for us.Originally posted by: freestuff09

I am about to head out to the local BB with a receipt copy <thanks Dennis885) for $350 (after $100 HIS coupon) plus sale tax and another poster from SD said the price was falling to $300 after coupon. Guess I will wait until next week and get it for $10? LOL
On the serious note, will this laptop <spec wise> get any better and cheaper from now until Feb of 2009? <I will be on a long trip out and need a laptop). Just don't want to buy this and a few months later <especially BF), another laptop with better specs and even lower price showing up. I don't need a laptop right now.

I went to my local BB afterwork today and they only allowed the sale price minus the HIS coupon ($525 - $100 = $425 plus sale tax). Not bad but I want them to pricematch a receipt copy dated 9-18-08 ($450 - $100 = $350 plus sale tax). The CSR at the service desk said the date was last week and that BB laptop in that state probably on sale and she would not pricematched it.
Does anyone have a $350 receipt (after coupon) from this week? (9-21-08 to today) If you could PM me or post here, that would be grreat. TIA.

Nope. But did your best buy say in state only?
I'm sending PM to you and Svnla for the receipt anyways.
Woah, this account still works. I totally forgot my password years ago.

For the 1 year warranty that comes with this laptop, do you need to keep the receipt in order to use the warranty? I'm confused on how they work.
For example, if the laptop dies 8 months from now, would you need to mail the Best Buy receipt in with the laptop in order to have the laptop fixed.....or how does it work for warranties?

Are you serious? What's the big deal with keeping the receipt?

I sold one to a person on eBay and did not include the receipt, because I didn't think it was neccessary. Plus, I didn't want them to see I only paid $375 for it while they paid $700 for it.
I called Gateway and asked them, they said the person just needs to register the laptop online or through the phone, no receipt is neccessary, so let's hope they are correct.
