Lots of money..... I like that it has an upgradable video card, and that a tech is sent to your home to replace it, no shipping laptop back to dell.

You can get a similarly equiped Sager for Less.. Sager comes with a TV Tuner. Of course the Sager Doesn't come in Colors (unless you buy it in it's Alienware form..) or Dell's warranty and Service, (which I have heard good and bad about...)

But most importantly Dell offers Complete Care,,,. Well except for me, I live in Florida......

Notice of Restrictions

Not available for Dell Home Sales Customers in FL or NY.

we got no Fry's either.....

A true gamer would definitely get a desktop, preferably a custom built rig. I've never seen anyone go to a LAN party with a laptop. They'd probably throw you out.

Why waste $1500 - 2000?

starting at 9.06 pounds. Too heavy, but I guess it's not really meant for portable computing.

It's a no-brainer that a dekstop will perform better for the money. However, there's definitely value in a laptop suitable for games and I'm glad to see that Dell is acknowledging that this is a viable market segment. Now, whether that's really true or not is another matter...

laptops have a long ways to go till they ever get near a desktop in price, preformace and quality. But it's sure nice to see they are starting to have more user upgradeable laptops out there, and now that big companies like alienware, voodoo and now dell are getting them(and most of them have them for under $3k).

I'm still going to be holding out for a 20.1" fold out organic LCD laptop running off of a geforce5 mini-PCI express removeable card with a fuel cell battery and can last for at least 8 hours running at full processor speed

$6,858.00 - $250MIR = $6,608.00 + tax and shipping . I bet some moron out there would buy a $6,600 "gaming laptop." Even $2678AR for the stripped model (but still pretty nicely configured) is kind of high.

How much was the memory upgrade? $1500? $2000?

9.06 lbs. with a 15.4" Screen?

It's almost justifiable if the thing was 17"+, but for 15"??!!!

It should come with an integrated handle so you can do curls.
