this dude's site:

http://catalog.symmic.com/viewProduct.cfm?item_id=398129

there's the link. . .its 12 and 4 for shipping. . .and its better than a comparable cable from belkin which costs 2x as much: this one has an iron ferrite core which (i think) removes line noise. . .

he claims these cables to be new, and is also selling more of these on [that online auction site who's name i can't mention], as well as a 10ft version. . .
-happy hunting. . .

They sell the same things on Ebbay and have a 8000+ feedback, the vast majority are positive so they look legit to me.

ah, we think alike Password. . .here's a little thread i started. . .there is minimal response, but there's quite a few other threads over at ars about this. . .the general opinion is yes, they are worth the bother, but the price really stings. . . usually, they sell for $50 + . . .since we've knocked that back down to $16, i'd say go for it. . .read a few reviews if it makes you feel more comfortable. . .

If your monitor supports BNC and you use res higher then 1280x1078 then BNC is definetly worth the extra $.

I have never seen a monitor connected with a BNC cable, but is it really that much of a big difference? Will I really notice it, or is it just one of those things just to brag about?

Nokia sent me a free BNC for my 21" 445Xpro. When I was talking to the CSR, he didn't think there was much difference, and neither do I. This is the clearest monitor I have ever seen, so maybe that is why. I would say it is not worth getting. For those that don't know what a BNC cable is, you have to have BNC connectors on the back of the monitor. It connects to five different "ports".

Most CAD and Engineer Workstations used to use 21" BNC monitors .... Componet Output's for HDTV and DVD players come from BNC Technology where the color streams are seperated to maintain best signal integrity from the source. Actually my old LD player had BNC connector's becuase componet output's didn't exist then. BNC improves the picture but shines when used with higher resolutions.

yeah scrubman ::cracks knuckles:: . . .every now and then . ..us junior members come up with a little something special. . .and now i feel all warm and fuzzy inside, knowing that i brightened someone's day. . .::tear::
. . .another thing. . .remember what i was saying about the belkin cable not having the ferrite core?. . .since there's no pic at the place which sells it the cheapest ($23 at buy), i went to the site:

Lo and Behold, no Core in the Pic

and you can be sure they would have mentioned it in the description if it had one. . .jeez. ..they mentioned the damn "high quality" rubber that they use. . .it's actually flexible!!

Doesnt it seem a little odd that you people want the highest quality picture yet are getting the cheapest and probably lowest quality BNC connectors? Just an observation.

ayo orbius!. . .that's right. ..im talking to you. . .WTF you wanna fight? . . .j/k. ..in reality, please, take a gander at the belkin, which costs more, is of a more trusted company, yet is clearly lower quality. . .there is NO FERRITE CORE to eliminate outside interference. ..that is the whole damn purpose of the BNC cable. . .it seperates the color signals from each other to prevent crosstalk, while at the same time, the damn thing isn't worth anything if there is NO CORE to eliminate outside interference. ..even the lowliest d-sub 15 pin will offer you cores on either end of the connection. . .sheesh!

I saw no difference between BNC and D-sub (standard) monitor cable on my 21". Then again, that also probably depends on the quality of each cable too, as the post right above mine touched upon. I've seen reports of differences in quality of the d-sub cables that come with different brand monitors (all I remember now is that Samsung was rated excellent).

Anyways, the only use I can think of for using my BNC connectors is if I wanted to hook up 2 computers to the same monitor: one hooked up to the d-sub, and the other hooked up to the BNC.

PCCables.com also offers a 6ft BNC w/RFI line Choke for $10 +shipping. Total to my address was $15.69 so this may be a better deal to some.

This cable is a P.O.S. Pro quality "bare" cable alone costs more than this whole assembly.

If you look closely and use a large (8' wide or so) projected image the differences are obvious.

If you really want high quality, high resolution graphics, you need quality cable.

The truly hardcore will first bypass the useless RF filter from the graphics card (easy to do - many web sites with step by step instructions). Then hardwire the cable directly to the graphics card on one end and monitor card or monitor input board on the other. The improvement at 1280 X 1024 and above is remarkable. If your text is blurry at hires, this is probably why.

So an 8' image is all you need to tell the difference? No problem, I think most of us plan to use it on our monitors anyways. As long as its better than d-sub I'll be happy.
