Does the $560 sweater come with a heater inside? It should I found a jacket with a battery powered heater online for $99 (batteries not included). Come to think about it for the price of your $560 sweater I could buy a decent refurbished laptop and a sweater, throw the laptop under my sweater while on and have a nice heated sweater and laptop for the price of your $560 sweater. Or heck I could take that $560 pay a car payment, and still have enough left over for dinner, a nice sweater, and that heated jacket.

But yeah! What a great deal!

Well that sweater looks better than yours in all likelihood. If there ever was a sweater to get you laid, that is it.

Bah! Saks, Smaks.

Who needs a cashmere sweater when you can have an Eider down comforter on your bed. Sure, you can't wear it outside like a sweater, but once you have one why would you ever get out of bed?

I couldn't make this stuff up:
"In Iceland, home of the endangered eider, down collectors climb cliffs and "defeather" old nests in a labor-intensive process"

"The finest, warmest and most rare down comforter in the world, Eiderdown is harvested from abandoned nests that the mother duck covers with down she plucks from her own breast to keep her eggs warm. The Eider ducks are protected from the usual commercial type of harvesting, and as you can imagine, hand harvesting after the nests have been abandoned, is very labor intensive and expensive."

They actually have a good price on them Here.

A steal for only $6,000.00 for a queen.

Some of that stuff isn't too bad, some is stupid.

600 for a sweater? Excessive, but not ridiculous.
120 for jeans? Not really that bad, not uncommon to see nice jeans around 80 bucks.
80 for a tie? Now what the hell is going on here? A tie is a tie. You don't feel the material, the shape is pretty much standard, and those designs aren't particularly impressive.

As far as fit and shape goes, for me, unless I shop at a big and tall store or get something tailored, I know it's not going to fit right, so I just buy something cheap.

Try buying the cheaper clothing and giving the difference to a charity, I bet that will feel a lot better than your expensive clothing.

I'll be the first one to admit, when the good money starts rolling in (still in school), there is no reason not to look nice is designer clothing. Simply put, it looks better, on anyone. For those of you who buy Hilfiger and think that's nice (you kidding me?), you need to open your eyes.

I see where you're coming from, but I disagree with your statement. Half of fashion is what you're wearing, but the other half is how you wear it. You can look good in cheap clothes, because honestly, the average (and even above-average) of the fashion-conscious won't know its cheap if you carry yourself a certain way. Half of the game is confidence.

Of course, if you're more confident because it cost you more, go for it. There's nothing wrong with that.

First, off I have to give this guy credit ... I agree it is all about confidence ... I guarantee I could wear crapy clothing and pull off better results due to my confidence then most people wearing $1000 clothing!
I'm not trying to flame however, cuz it's all a matter of perspective I'd rather be wearing the $1000 clothing but I can't afford it and that's fine ... I'll continue shopping for my $30 clothing.
But, what I find really interesting is the fact that when you click to enlarge the Saks.com image on the sweater the image link is broken ... but the Gap link works. Just found a little humor in that for those of you paying for "quality". I would think Saks.com could afford better web work than that.
OsSpengler, nice find though for those who can afford.

The geeks can mock all they want. Lets face the facts. That $560 sweater will still be as useful (with general use) 10 years down the line as it was brand new. It might still retain a fairly nice chunk of its original price.

That $500 CPU or Video Card after 5 years will be worth but a few bucks. 10 years down, it will be completely worthless to the point that no one would want it even if you gave it away.

I recycle all my old hardware into comfortable, practical wearables. I've had the same pair of high density mittens and double data rate shorts for years, they're quite durable. You can even sometimes see a spark when I fart in the dark, too!

Who needs a girl when you've got such a soft sweater on hand? :Q

Ahhhhhhhhhh........... ggeeeeeeeeeeeeeez! I guess this means I have to take back my Disney "grumpy" hockey jersey ($39.00).

Actaully I purchased an Armani leather jacket from Saks (hey Arni has one) for $750 marked down from $1500. Too afraid to get it wet And the lining is sagging in the back after a few times of being worn. So much for "quality".

I thank you that you did not post any womens articles. So does my wallet, AND my closet space. : D

I'm sure you cause the same reaction for many, while you're bebopping down the street with a gangsta limp in your XXL $30 red/white/blue Hilfiger sweater.

LOL!

I think most people are missing the point that a person who spends $500 on a sweater wouldn't care for a 10% discount, would not wait for a sale, would not search the net for the best price, would not brag it was such a 'hot deal,' and would not post here as if it was a clearance on Target's electronic section. These people are either craving attention or are just full of it.

You all are killing me. This is themost fun i've had reading something on here in a while. I must say something about quality and craftmanship though. I used to be big into getting only Brookes Brothers stuff and for a big reason that they are really well made. But also admit that I usually never spend more then 60 on a shirt. Unlike these other Polio or Tommy Pullmyfingers that cost the same and tear up after couple months. You do really pay for quality, but always remember that they can all be bought at a cheaper price, SALES!!! ANyhow, keep up the good benter... this is hillarious.

I got a nice Kenneth Cole watch and a nice pair of Kenneth Cole sunglasses at Off Sak's about a year or so ago. I think the watch was $30 and the glasses were $15, not bad! If you're in the neighborhood and in the mood to shop, stop by one and look through the stuff, maybe you'll find something nice for reasonable!

I hope you have something to prevent chafing. DDR shorts aren't very kind to your jewels. LOL

There is an element of exclusivity to fashion; after all, it's not fashionable if everyone else in the world is wearing it. For example, a Gucci sweater may cost $1,800 at the flagship NYC store. This sweater perhaps cost them $50 to make. However, you're buying a position as one of the most fashion-conscious people in the world. Now, I don't buy Gucci because I think it's a rip off, and I think it means "fashion-victim" personified. But brands like Canali, Brioni, Kiton, etc.--all of these brands justify their prices with the quality of their craftsmanship.

Maybe these rules don't apply online, but you're often what you wear.

Thanks for reminding me why I hate New York City.

You'd be very wrong about that. Some people have their eyes on a certain and they wait for them to go on sale. It is actually very rare for current season stuff to go on sale. Just because some people like nice stuff doesn't mean they enjoy getting ripped off.
