Ordered mine yesterday, just got it today. And guess what-I got a mp2200 (usb, uses smartmedia) instead! I may even be able to get the rebate-it has a upc sticker plastered over on the box-upc #98226 21000 6. Could someone let me know what the UPC # is for the 2100?

Yeah!! Mine is also 2200!!!! I am satisfied though, it doesn't matter if I can get the $40 rebate. $75 for a USB 64 M MP3 player, I'll call that's my day.

Could be a cheap way of getting 64 megs of smartmedia cheap if you do it right (after the rebate comes in).

Just spoke with an outpost salesperson. He said the rebate wouldn't qualify because their price is not retail, and the rebate applies only to items sold at retail. The Flooz part might still work, but don't count on the rebate.

Avatant47: The rebate is not from outpost, it's from the manufacturer. See here is the rebate from sensoryscience.. I won't want to get the rebate though 'cause I got a 2200 model. But think other ppl may want to be sure they can get the rebate though. Any comments on this?

received the 2200 model, and, except for the box, it says mp 2100 everywhere-receipt, shipping confirmation, including the UPC which has xxxxx:2100, which i assume means mp 2100 also. anyhow, it did come in a sealed retail box, and the rebate form says nothing about where it's purchased, so i sent it out...either way, a USB, fast, sleek, and small 64mb player rated only behind the $500 mammoth Nomad in terms of quality mp3 players for only $99 is a great deal

Well, I also got the 2200. About the rebate: I notice that there is a upc that was pasted over the original upc on my box. The one that is pasted, is the UPC for the 2100, which is the model that qualifies for the rebate. The UPC that is permantly on the box is the 2200 model. The only problem I can forsee is that when we send off our rebates, our UPC's will probablly be different from the majority of the ones they received. But I would argue like there's no tomorrow for my rebate, as we all have the receipt from Outpost showing that we paid for & purchased at 2100.

it doesn't matter who you buy it from, the manufacturer won't honor a rebate for a product not bought at retail price. read the fine print on the rebate form.

All of our purchases were retail purchases (as opposed to wholesale ones-sales to vendors for resale). If the rebate was intended to be limited to sales at full suggested retail price only, or from a particular vendor, then it should have said so.

As there is no limit on the number of rebate applications per household, I think my interpretation is correct. Sensory Science is merely limiting its maximum rebate exposure to one rebate per product unit, rather than have the exposure of owing a rebate everytime the unit gets resold before it reaches the ultimate consumer. Otherwise they could owe a rebate to outpost.com, its supplier and to me-all for the same unit sold.

I've read and re-read the rebate form many times and see no restriction to sales from Amazon-could someone please point out the specific language that gives rise to this worry?

Assuming that the package has the correct upc # I'm willing to go to the mat to get this rebate.

I got mine!! It's the 2200--excellent Xmas gift for the girlfriend, much better than the 2100.

I am going to roll the dice with the rebate and send it in...this player is nicer than my Rio PMP300SE... now the status of the 2100 is "ships in 1-2 weeks" on Outpost.com.

I wonder if they ran out of the 2100's and had to dip into the 2200's ($250 player) to fulfill "next day delivery?"
