I finally got one today! Yippee!!!

549.99
-54.99 PM to Costco
-100.00 Dividends coupon
---------
395.00 + tax

The cashier did not want to pricematch with Costco. She called a manager and wanted the manager to call Costco and verify stock. The manager didn't even care. She told her to PM it. Then I produced the dividends coupon. She didn't want to give me the $100 dividends coupon with the PM. The manager did it with no problem. I had the $30 off ready to go but I figured I was lucky enough and did not want to push it. Especially with the problem I was having doing a simple transaction. But $400 for a $550 monitor is a GREAT deal.

Thanks for all your help and ideas!

UPS delivered my monitor today... WOWWWW.. Like it so far...

However, it seems not to support scalling 1024*768. I boot up computer in that resolution the first time and the monitor refuses to display anything. After I set it to 1280*1024, it is working fine. Anyone can confirm that scaling limitation?

Nevermind. It supports all scaling after I load the envision driver.

i got mine yesterday. thinking about returning it. don't get me wrong, this monitor is beautiful for everything ... except games. very mild ghosting in CS, but it is there. thing is, it was such a good deal, i'd hate to return it, rather pass it off to you AT'ers. this monitor is very clear (you MUST have a good video card though, it does help a lot). it is even more crisp than my friend's Eizo which costs $900 or so, and he is the one that pointed it out. so if you want this (i know this is not the right forum, but there are some in here that really want this) just PM me, we can do it off the forum. especially if you are in san diego, we can meet up or something.

I finally got to put my LCD monitor on my desk. One problem. There is one dead pixel right smack dab in the middle of the screen. It is constantly lit red. The manual says there is a 0.01% failure rate. 1280*1024=1,310,720 pixels. Each pixel has 3 transistors so 1280*1024*3=3,932,160 transistors.

At 0.01% failure rate that means 131.072 pixels can go bad before this thing is considered defective.

Don't get me wrong, the flat panel is awesome. But a dead pixel in the middle of the screen does not make me feel great. Should I take it back or suck it up?

Here is a link that describes dead pixels....

Here is a free program to test for dead pixels....

Here's an even better program to test for dead pixels!

Here is a message board that talks about "massaging" the pixel to fix it....

After further testing I have two. One is bright red and the other is a light green.

I don't think you should multiply it by 3 to found out how many dead pixels you can have. That would be 131 pixels before it's considered bad, that's a REALLY high number, I really doubt that...

Just had success with $50 Costco Pricematch, $100 and $40 coupon.

$369

Call the rep and get them to pricematch local Costco, or Costco Website. $550-$50=$499.

Have her apply the $40 coupon. $469. She should have no problems with the $40 coupon.

Have them put the order on hold.

Keep calling back and try to get the Business Rewards Coupon applied. I got it on my first try, but if you don't at least you don't have to wait through the pricematch again.

Final Cost: $389 Tax and Shipping Included. yippeee!!!!

I went back to exchange the monitor with the glowing red pixel. They had two more in stock. I explained the situation and a really nice guy named David helped me out. He pulled out the first one and I asked if we could test it. No problem he says. Well that one had a glowing green pixel. He said there was another in the back and asked if I wanted to give it a shot. OF COURSE! was my reply. He brings it out and we plug it in and guess what, NO DEAD PIXELS! Not one! I used this program that I had posted earlier. Got it home and it looks GREAT! I turned on ClearType which actually does help. I watched a little bit of Shrek and the picture is awesome. I will never go back to CRT.

Damn, I think Im to late its May Already! Im im just about ready to buy this monitor in a week or two.

Ok, On Costco Online the Envision 17" LCD is priced at $499...My Local Costco does have it instock. I do have a Costco Membership, so I could buy it there but...What is this $100 off Business Thing for, How do I get it? Is it for Staple's Online or the Stores? Staples online has the Envision 17" LCD for $549 now, was there a rebate for it a month back or something? Lets see if I can get Staples to Match with Costco then that gets it down to $499, then with that Business Deal thing ppl are talking about that makes it $399.

Man oh Man I hope im not to late!

Oh Could someone PM Me the coupon Codes for this Offer? I guess there is a $50, and a $100 one

You're way too late. The coupon expired March 31st. You're probably better off using a $40 off $200 coupon.
