I forgot all about the review...thanks Jim, for reminding me!
I bought from Cost Central back when the $40 rebates were going on.
If I bought some more, would I still be eligible now that the rebate amount is different?
BTW, this is excellent ram. I have it on an IP35-E motherboard. I got my E6300 up to 2.8Ghz (7x400fsb) & ran Memtest overnight as well as Prime95. This ram had no problem running DDR2-800 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8V! It was barely warm to the touch after running Memtest!

Yes, from what I understand you should be able to get the rebate.

Any "authorized HP reseller" is eligable for this rebate. After a few e-mails with the HP rebate house, I'm not so sure that any company that sells the stuff isn't eligable...lol.

Can someone check if the rebate is available for these guys?

It would cost $5 a stick, free shipping.

It was listed as Generic on pricegrabber though, and could be oem

I would stay away from them unless you call and they guarantee the correct HP part number. They list 3 part numbers (one of them is correct) but which one will you receive? Nice price at $25 per stick - $20 MIR + shipping but not worth the risk/hassle to return if not the correct memory sticks.

Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm a manager with the Customer Service team at ANTOnline.

We have been notified that you product order was damaged in transfer from the regional warehouse to the shipping hub.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are refunding immediately and filing an insurance claim for our lost goods.

You see the refund on your next written credit card statement - usually within 30 days. We do not control and can not speed up your credit card company's credit posting time frame.

Again we have refunded you purchase in full, so you can re-order as you see fit; we apologize for any inconvenience.

You're going to wake up tomorrow with OOS headline.

LOL, that is what happened to me last time, and that is why I ordered 5 this time.

I warned folks that the IP35-E was dirt cheap @ $55-$60 AR. Course some wanted to buy it cheaper...so they waited, and waited, and now it's not even available for $90!

I grabbed the IP35-E at $66.00 AR. and got the $50.00 2 x 2gb A-Data for $50.00 AR

Wish I would have got the Mushkin 2 x 2gb for $25.00 AR though.

oh well you cant win-um all.

I grabbed the IP35-E for $25 after rebate. Bought a $45 open box item, and got the $20 rebate check from Abit on the day after christmas. Three more socket 775 motherboards were even cheaper (bought as-is and repaired).

The HP DDR2 November deal got me started, bought ram, needed mobo's. Gotta do something with 19 sticks of Corsair, OCZ, and HP 1G DDR2. Still need two AM2 mobos for a pair of AMD X2 4000's from Newegg.

doesnt seem to be HP but it has the part number... 2GB for $10 AR

Acutally, it's close but has a -AA on the part number. I looked at these (all of the HP rebate items for that matter) earlier and decided that they are similar, but not HP (maybe made by HP with -AA on the part number). I don't think the rebate will fly on that one...YMMV.

Gah, why doesn't anyone offer free shipping?

If you buy more than 2 sticks, then ANTOnline is the cheapest.

If you're only buying 2, buy from CostCentral, as it's slighty cheaper, and they have plenty of sticks in stock, so it's less likely that something will go wrong (5613 sticks in stock).

For the serial number I'm using the one on the memory(s/n). For me it's something like 3807.....
For the outside of the box, I'm going to fold it flat and take a photocopy of the front and the side UPCs.

Thanks OP. Now all I need is a CPU, Mobo, and a graphics card for dirt cheap.

Buy.com link for $30.24 (-$10 GCO - $20 MIR = $0.24).

P.S. Anyone notice we have a happy thread approver who gives stars for every thread now...lol!

Oh snap, nice deal. Does anyone know if it's possible to submit 2 rebate forms? One for buy.com and one for CostCentral?

I don't see why you could not as long as the total sticks were 5 or less between the rebates. YMMV. Might want to e-mail rebate house (e-mail address on rebate forum) and ask.

I wish I could hear the story of what exactly happened to your shipment. I mean, it's RAM, for goodness's sake . It's not like it has moving parts or anything that could be easily broken with a drop. And a little heat isn't going to hurt it.

So most likely, it got crushed/snapped by some pretty serious forces.

I've noticed that too, and I've been wondering about it. I think the person has it out for ActiveX though, as all of his threads seem to get modded down to 0 stars .

Anyone read the marketing comment at ANTOnline?

Marketing Comment
$25 reseller spiff Feb 1 - Apr 30, 2007. $25 end user mail in rebate, Feb 1 - Apr 30, 2007. Max quantity 5 per end user.

Apparently, it'll be even cheaper Feb 1. For anyone that doesn't know, a "spiff" is a reseller rebate directly from the manufacturer to the reseller (kinda like a dealer rebate when you buy a new car).

So there would be a $25 off rebate in February? Meh, I don't think I want to take the chance of waiting that long.
