This is a GREAT monitor!!! I just bought it yesterday at Fry's and this thing has a better display than some of the Samsung's and Nec's. By the way... this monitor has a 16 ms response time! I tested it with ut2k3, castle wolfenstein: enemies territory, the lobby scene from the matrix, and there was no ghosting!!! TRUE 16 ms response time lcd for only 299!!! Plus, it has built in speakers. Get them while they're available... because some of the stores are sold out!

WOW that's hot, I might pick one up.. but then what do i do with my 19" CRT?

Hyundai cars weren't good in the past, but they are improving

I don't think Hyundai cars have anything to do with their LCD screens. Hyundai is a massive conglomerate that has seperate companies within Hyundai. For example not only do they make cars but military ships, cargo ships, oil tankers, computer electronics, elevators, and even food.

You mean DVI 'IN'. If it was what you meant, No, it does not have DVI-in, only D-SUB.

fine, be that way, don't give me any reviews, see if I care!

Broke down and ordered one of those puppies yesterday nite and they shipped it right away. It's coming ground airborne express from Ohio to Michigan -- should be here in two days I'd imagine. I'll tell you how I like it, though rebates will expire by then.

Damnit! I just got the NEC 1760NX.... Anyway all the 16 ms monitors use the same panel, so they can't be much different from each other. There's a comparison of all the 16 ms models out there on tomshardware. It was just posted this morning.

Actually, I stopped by my local Fry's to see this display. The text on the screen looked fuzzy...not crisp as I would expect. Compared to some NEC's and Sony's next to it, the Hyundai looked blurry and fuzzy. Could that just have been a bad unit?

Just got mine in the mail from outpost.com and it was DOA. Outpost said there were plenty in stock and placed a new order after giving me my RMA. They also offered to pay for shipping back if I fax the invoice.

Wow, after a misdeliver by Airborne, finally got mine -- this is too cool! Very bright and sharp. Haven't seen any dead pixels yet. Now need to adjust it to my liking

The additional $50 rebate ends today 6/26/03. The second rebate form also wants an original sales receipt. How do you get 2 ORIGINAL sales receipts ?

If you ever shopped @ fry's before they give you two receipts. 1 is a sales receipt and the other is a rebate receipt.

Tho, I've never purchased anything from outpost this is only a IN STORE experience.

Good Luck

Additional comment: this LCD has a headphones jack in the back, that I didn't see listed in the specs.

Rebate form indeed states 2 Original Sales/Rebate Reciepts.

I only got one "Packing Slip" in my package.

Called outpost.com, they confirm that Outpost.com customers only get the packing slip and not Reciept + Rebate Reciept like Fry's. They've said it should be fine -- that nobody had a problem before and to call the Hyundai number on the rebate form to double-check. Hyundai rep also said that the packing slip should be sufficient, but also to include a note re: the conversation with her.

Games wise I've tried it with American Army Ops -- and didn't see any ghosting, will try some more when I get home.

Do the Q70 (the one recommended by THG) and L70S (the one sold at Frys) use the same 20ms panel?

I believe so, as the specs appear identical.

did some more snooping around on the web -- nothing concrete on english-based sites, in europe half of them state it's 20ms, the other states it's 16ms.

This is very tempting, I just don't know whether I will be able to live with the ghosting and the fact that I'll have to spend half an hour tweaking the phase/clock/sharpness settings. I use an analog LCD at work and its kinda annoying to know that analog signals are not 100% accurate.

Early bird get's the worm... But, the second mouse get's the cheese.
God I love this sig...

Got my replacement under 24 hours after calling in the RMA! And the new monitor is looking nice. No noticeable ghosting.
I would bet that all the Hyundai 17" monitors use the same Hyundai panel. The only difference I noticed in the specs of the two monitor is that the L70S doesn't have the DVI.

From reading the second rebate form (expiring on 6/26/03) it appears that it wants both rebates in the same envelope. Anyone else read this differently?
"Send the additional rebate form in one envelope with completed regular $50 rebate form and its requirements (1 ORIGINAL UPC and 2 ORIGINAL sales/rebate receipts) to Hyundai ImageQuest America by 7/11/03"

This deal is DEAD. Fry's jacked up the instore price to $450, and they are out of stock online. Plus one of the rebates is dead, so guess that's all. Time to wait for a Dell deal again.
