Target is offering Memorex 30- and 50-pk spindles for $9.99 and $14.99, respectively.

Our local store had the price posted as $9.99 and $16.99, but the 50-pk rang up at $14.99, as the ad indicated.

"Good" deal. I think BestBuy.com has similar deal going; maybe even a rebate? Anyone have details on the possibility of a rebate on these that might make it "HOT!"?

Best Buy B&M (haven't checked online) has the Memorex 50 pack for 17.99 - $8 Rebate. Total $9.99.

May not be same but I got a couple of Memorex cd-rw's from buy.com a couple of weeks ago, but didn't happen to use them till recently. to my horror my (admittedly not very new) burner couldn't even recognize the disks, let alone getting bad burns or something. The disks are also covered by 1-yr warranty. Tells a lot since just everyone else gives lifetime. I know no one will bother to replace less than half a dozen blanks but doesn't give any confidence either.

how r the quality of the memorex cd r kompare to imation, fuji, etc???r these 80 min cd r or 74 min and what speed??thanks

The Memorex CD-Rs are 74-minute and white. They do have a "write-on-able" label on the non-burn side.

I don't have a track record on Memorex vs. other CD-Rs, but Memorex in general has had a good reputation for magnetic media. Given this price (and the even better one with rebates from BB), I'm inclined to buy these over generics at a similar price (and did).

So where are those folks who already looked up these CDRs and know what country they came from, the dye used, lifespan, and their overall opinion of these??? Geez, after 6 or 7 posts I thought for sure somebody would know these things by now </sarcasm>.
Yes, I saw those today at Target and almost nabbed them, but then remembered I have a ton still left from the glory days of Outpost.

I was also wondering about the manufacturer of the CDR's since Memorex is a repackaging company.

Hey...Ive used the compusa generics which are memorex(found out by a rebate check). Ive had pretty good luck with them.

I think they pretty much suck when it comes to damage. They ones I've had can be scratched pretty easily.
