HOT? I thought so... 50 Teon CDR's w/jewel cases for $10 at walmart....

Hello all..

I stopped by walmart, and I was lookingto buy some jewel cases for all my loose CD's. They were selling empty jewel cases for $6 for 50, and next to them I noticed that they had Teon brand CDR's with Jewel cases for $10 for 50. I bought some, and I burned one CD fine so far, so they seem to be decent. They are labled 24X to. Seemed like a good deal to me, and at $5 for 25, or $10 for 50, I figured what the heck... I only needed jewel cases but....

and dl the proggy that identifies who manufactured these cdr's...if it is TY then it really is a hot deal...i doubt it at these prices...but i can hope

I checked the 24x Teon CD-Rs I purchased from Wal Mart a few months ago, and the CD-R Identifier program says they are made by CMC Magnetics Corp. I have used them without a problem so far.

my walmart has had these cdr's for 2 months and i have bought about 4 spindles....work great i have burned some coasters but hey i was experimenting...hehehhehe....muahahahhahahhaha.....but for straight burning havent had a prob with compatablility for audio or data......

Teon isn't really a good brand persay, but with CDRs the brand doesn't make a difference, since they are all sourced to CDR manufacturers. Therefore, you should be concerned about the manufacturer of the CDR. And as kesod, these are CMC Magnetics CDRs (Made in Taiwan). Personally, I prefer using Taiyo Yudens (Made in Japan) for my important data since they last longer (as concluded from tests and studies), however CMC Magnetics are good for everyday use, or giving your friends a copy of something. I believe currently all Imations are made by CMC Magnetics as well. Taiyo Yudens are considered (generally by this forum and other computer enthusiasts) to be the best CDR type out there. Usually when you buy CDR's and the label says "Made in Japan" they are Taiyo Yudens.

Walmart open at 10am, as most other stores too.
i wanted to get this, but i'm not sure if i can hold 3 more hours... i stayed up all night and day to get to sam's club and best buy yesterday, trying to get deal on plex/liteon and WD harddrive. but i can't find any =\
sam's said they changed brand to pine months ago. Duh... i saw pacific digital on christmas when i was candy shoppin. Oh well, i hate quarelling with manager especially on half sleep state.

Anyway, i'm not sure if walmart open today. if they do open, it's either 10am (regular open hour) or 11am (special day hour). Sentry Foods, Kohl's Food, mall, etc open on 11 am on new years day (im sure bout this).

i just got from walmart. there is no such thing as teon CDR bundled in jewel case 24x - 50 pieces for 10 bucks.

i check with store manager and i was standing next to him looking through database.

There is 50 Teon Jewel Case for 10 bucks
There is 25 cdr with jewel case for 11.88
There is 20 audio cdr with jewel case for 11.88
There is 30 audio cdr in spindel for 5 bucks

So There is the run down of Teon CDR Products in walmart.

I bought the jewel case, 50 for 10 bucks not too great deal but i need case anyway. (50 jewel case slightly better quality are normally sell for 8-9 bucks at big computer sale - www.supercomputersale.com)

XoMartel, if you printed that correctly, $5/30 is a hot price for those (the misguided computer illiterates) who need audio CD's.

For anyone wondering, audio CD's work fine in computers, but computer CDR's do not work in audio CD copiers.

xomartel is correct, there is no such animal(50 pack w/jewel case). Not at our local wallyworld anyway.

kliza23, you should have bought all they had as there is no such animal in the walmat here in sc. they had a 25 pak with cdr's/slim cases for $11.88 plus tax.no deal here!!!!!
