HOT! INTEL SOYO DRAGON MOTHERBOARD FREE AFTER REBATE!!

My KT-266 and KT-400 Dragons were among the WORST motherboards I've ever owned! My KT-266 had constant problems with the built in LAN dropping out. This was a KNOWN issue with this board. I RMA'd it to newegg and they sent me a KT-400. The KT-400 would not work (No Boot) with any CPU above a XP2400+ and this was a known issue with the early boards. Unfortunately Soyo refused to acknowledge the problems. Finally 2 weeks ago the whole motherboard smoked along with my PS, RAM, and HDD. I'm completely done with SOYO forever because of Quality issues and lack of support. Good luck to everyone on your rebates. Please let us know if you get them in 6 months or so.

Oh yeah, I've used a couple K7VME's and K7VMP2's and they're fine. The only Soyo product which was no good was the black party/LAN Case. The placement of the power supply in relationship to the cpu suxxx.
You must use a low profile, high output fan or the cpu will overheat. Very, very bad engineering.

I, too, have done allot of these Soyo rebates - six items and eight rebates since March of this year with $255 still on hold. I have only received one $20 check from March so far, and that one came surprisingly in less than four weeks! However, I only have two others that are even acknowledged in their system at this point.

I am extremely disappointed in Soyo for their apparent lack of concern. I plan on calling them later today since I assume they are probably on the west coast somewhere. I hope to at least get my really old March one resolved, then I will work on the others as 16 weeks passes.

Their site is confusing at best. One rebate that just appeared as being approved on 9/27 references a rebate periof of 3/10 to 3/16 when I didn't even have a purchase. I think it relates to a different rebate period in June for the same item, though. I wish they would reference the Offer Number so it would be easier to correlate.

Well, enough said. I have definitely learned my lesson on this one! I have not purchased another Soyo rebated item since August and don't plan to until I start seeing some more rebate checks roll in.
