Good deal and I would be tempted to buy if Dell didn't go cheap and start using a SMALLER case than the previous 4550.

New 128MB DDR ATI RADEON? 9800 Graphics Card with TV-Out and DVI add $130

Would it be a good idea to add the Radeon 9800 for $130?

I gave away 2 coupons on FW's One Time Use Coupon Codes forum, tons of people giving away 5% off coupons.

I think it's stackable with current promo's but only on purchases $999 and more.

I have both and I kinda like the new smaller case. It has a removable side door instead of the hinged case the 4550 came with. With combo drives you only need one or 2 bays(DVD burner) and thats what the older case had. A third bay is available if you remove the floppy.

Couple of big hds and your good to go IMO. That video card is a great deal too. Performs better than anything else near that price. I run both cards. A 9700tx from another dell deal in one of my rigs and the 9800 is the same price and better performance.

Good catch I didn't even see that, unless he owns/works for slickdeals I'm sure it was an accident.

Keep in mind you're already paying for a GF4 MX. The $130 is how much you're paying on top of what the MX costs.

I'd say it's cheap upgrade to pay 130 for a 9800

I just found out it's NOT a 9800 PRO ,It's just a 9800.... Which I think is under clocked? Don't know if you can OverClock the card? any one know?
It's only a 128mb not the 256mb DDR

So your saying that it's a bad deal for $130?

You should be able to easily clock the 9800 up to 9800 Pro levels... it's a very good deal if you want a high end video card.

Would it be better to go with the 8300 to take advantage of the 5% off?

$1079 - $50 (discount) - $51.45 (5% off) - $250 (MIR) = $727.55 - FatCash/EBates + tax

I know they differ in chipset (875P vs. 865G), number of PCI slots, case, and the minimum you can get with the 8300 is the 2.60GHz processor, but they both appear to have SATA capability, 8x AGP (I may be mistaken here), and be similar in all other aspects. Is it worth the difference in cash?

This looks to be a good deal, my uncle is looking for a new comp, but wheres the fun in this. Theres alot of OC potential in that 2.4C but you can't overclock it for anything in that dell comp. I think the $130 upgrade to a ati 9800 is really nice.

No I think configuring the deal with the 4600 is much better that one is significantly more expensive with very little differences

Would it be easy to take all the components out of the dell case and throw them in another case without any problems.
I just ask because dell usually ties everything together espically in the OS. For instance a dell windows XP disk won't install on a non dell computer, would I have similar issues if i did the above?

I bought a 4600 on one of the earlier dealios with a 2.8c and a 9800 just to strip the cpu and vidcard for another system I am building and I can tell you it shows up as a 9800 Pro in the XP device manager. Unfortunately I have not finished the rig so I havent actually checked the clock. Its definitely worth the extra $130 from the crappy gf4 mx.
