one more note for anyone to manages to get this deal- the 4.1s lack a quality in the speaker wire. while you're at magnolia i'd reccommend shopping for some 16 gauge or monster cable, they do make a difference

I do not believe the 5.1s can handle a DTS stream although I know they will be coming out with their own 5.1 decoder that you can hook up to you your PC, DVD player, or Playstation2. Should be cool.

Yeah, that should be cool. That's the one thing that I wanted to know. I used to have an awesome stereo system for my PC. Had a Kenwood AV 5.1 Receiver and a pair of awesome floor standing speakers. Had to sell them, though. Ran out of money. But now I have a job, so I need to replace them. Was going to get the Klipsch Promedia 4.1s

Guys, just called Magnolia Hifi to verify the price. The sales guy quoted me $299 for the 4.1s and $199 for the 2.1s.

I'm guessing it's a misprint....

I live in Seattle so I called Roosevelt (north Seattle) location. The sales dude didn't have a clue they were on sale. >:|

Called Bellevue location (suburb of Seattle) and same answer: $299. The sales guy said $199 would be below their cost for 4.1.

They are however having a "private sale" for their loyal customers for a whopping 7% disc. on your purchases.

Naw, I go to school in PA. I live in CA. Back for the summer. Well, since I can't afford to buy these, I'll let you guys in on some info I just got. I just called Magnolia Hi-fi at the Santa Clara store. They said that they only had 1 in stock, and it was the demo. Some guy already had it reserved. They also have 2 in their werehouse, so you gotta go quick if you want it. If you call the store up, make sure you tell them that you have the ad. When you go to pick it up, make sure that you take your ad with you. They also had 1 in their San Ramon store.

cthd - i was only talking about locations in California. There are only 2 locations in California. The Mercury Newspaper is a Bay Area Newspaper. The sales rep i talked to said that his price sheet said $299, but that if the ad said 199, he'd have to honor it.

Well FrysSux, it looks like folks in CA call pull off the "honor the ad" demand because they have a pretty strict laws about false advertising. IOW, you get sued up the litigatory wazzu if you don't honor advertised prices.
Unfortunately, it's not so in the state of WA....

I just called the Beaverton, Oregon location, and they said that is was a misprint as well, and that the real price should be $299, but the sales guy said that they could probably work out some sort of deal, but I didn't inquire further. I don't have the money for those speakers right now, but with $100 off that would be worth racking up some debt. Oh well, guess I'll have to keep saving.

Wow, I wish I was closer to San Jose...In this week I'll be in LA, San Francisco, and Berkeley but nowhere near San Jose...damn...

In any case, I called every Magnolia store and not a one have told me they'd honor the ad since it they claim it was the newspaper's fault and not theirs'.

Best Buy owns Magnolia Hi-Fi. If it's the wrong price, they already know about it, and will probably say "no" to a PM.
