6800 will always be a better card than a 6600GT, its only whether you want to invest the extra $$ to buy it. I paid almost a hundred more for my 6800 but I didn't want to wait any longer either.

Spare cash + patient buyer = best deal possible

Looks like a good card at a very good price.

I've starting to purchase components for my next PC build and I'm getting really tired of waiting for PCI-E video cards to drop in price before I order the mobo.

If I find out the R520 and 7800 series of video cards from ATI and nVidia will be offered in AGP 8X, I may just forgo PCI-E in favor of an AGP 8x mobo.

From what I've heard, the bandwidth of AGP 8x is NOT the bottleneck yet. I wonder if R520 and/or series 7800 video cards would choke the AGP 8x bus?

I recently returned a NEC 2500 DVD burner to newegg that quit burning DVDs after I had used it for nearly a year. They didn't stock it any more so they sent me a 3520 (much better unit) because it was selling for $68 and I had paid about $80 for the original 2500. Got the unit and it works great with minimal hassles from Newegg. I did have to pay a few bucks return shipping but I was very happy with the result and amazed that they honored the one year return policy without any hassles.

Over the past few years I've also returned flakey memory sticks and a bad motherboard with no problems. I'd tend to agree that if anything Newegg has too liberal a return policy but they don't seem to be going out of business because of it.

If you read this forum you'll find that most people are even willing to pay a few percent premium to buy from Newegg simply because they are relatively hassle free and very scrupulous about honoring their RMA policies.

A few years ago I got a defective Antec True330 that was supposed to be "whisper quiet" but sounded like a 747 flying 200 feet above my house. At first they were just insisting on refunding my CC immediately because they were mysteriously OOS for a replacement, but I was building a system and needed a PSU right away. I called, and the CSR was very helpful. They substituted an Enermax 350, refunded my original shipping charge, and shipped the replacement as soon as they got the Antec back...plus, they credited my shipping costs to ship back the defective PSU.

Don't bother trashing Newegg on this board, you're wasting your time.

I think they've caught on to how lax their return policy is. Has anybody else noticed these days how many items are "manufacturer's warranty only" meaning not even a single day's worth of DOA returns? I've spent tens of thousands with Newegg over the years and have seen the gradual erosion of their RMA policy. On average they are still better than most, but not as good as they used to be.
