I upgraded from BA4800 to Z-560, so I can tell you. It solely depends on how LOUD you will play these speakers. If not too loud, you can stick with BA4800, if you want to play your music really loud, get Z-560. I don't play it too loud because people under me would kill me and also because my ears would start bleeding.

<< does anyone know how i can hook this up to an amp? i wanna use speakers while watching tv and other stuff like listening to the radio. >>

You might be able to use an RCA coax to mini-jack adaptor to connect the subwoofer to your receiver if you have a dedicated subwoofer coax output. Otherwise it's not really possible to use this sub. The satellites use speaker wire so that's not a problem. I'm surprised you want to use computer speakers on a real amp... multimedia speakers are pretty crappy for this purpose. You would probably be better off adding some real speakers (if you don't already have some) to your home audio system and connecting your PC to it. Actually, I bought these z560s because I am selling my 5.1 DTS home theater, which produced phenomenal sound from my PC via digital coax, and I need a decent multimedia sub that uses speaker wire so I can use the B&W Rock Solid monitors that I have left (my dad gave these to me - selling them would be just wrong ). BTW, I got the z560s for $138.84 + $9.72 TAX (I'm in Berkeley, CA) from 2BuyStore. Do these ship from FL? I don't want to have to wait another week to get them! I'm excited...

<< Yet another time where living in Hawaii sucks. They want over $100 in shipping alone. I think I will be better off going to a local computer store and getting them for $180 plus tax. It's a shame though. Oh well. >>

Yeah, I am having the same problem that you are. I really want a set of these, but shipping is a mother out to Oahu. I was checking out the paper this morning and CompUSA has them for 179.99 after IR. Also, if you are in any way affiliated with a school or the DOE, you should be able to get about another 25 bucks off. Both of my parents are teachers so that is what I am going to do. Good luck. The only other option is order from Newegg. Shipping for one set really sucks, but if you can get two or three friends interested, it should be around 80 bucks for all three. 135 + 27 for shipping is still pretty good. Only advantage to buying locally is that if they go out on you, you don't have to eat the shipping cost back to the mainland. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks I got in on this deal as well!

I do hope that the quaility of the build on these is all right...nothing worse then a powerful sub that has distortion...

I only worry about the ground shipping....but everyone seems to say that it was shipped great in double boxes! Sometimes I think that UPS likes to play football with ground packages!

Thanks for the deal!

I ordered a set on Sunday and JUST got them today (Tuesday) here in Houston, TX. Fast shipping for being FREE by UPS.

I plan on taking the advice of an earlier post and use the Monster Cable speaker wire instead.

This are really the perfect speakers for their price... no speakers in their price range can compare to these at any level. You should take into account of where you live though... if you live in a crowded area or an apartment then i wouldnt recommend getting these, because you cant use their full potential. I live in a college dorm... and i have to turn the bass all the way down because it shakes the pictures off my neighbor's walls. =)

dayam... i was just looking around an i found these puppies... http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/doc/a13290.html they are pretty cheap $189. AND THEY HAVE 1000WATTS!!! Wow.... they also have a mediocre 850WATT version for$149. I dont know if these speakers are any good though. Kinyo Z-560's are 1000Watts.... kinda similiar to the Logitech Z-560 =)

Muavro thank's for the research/review thread. I've always been a big fan of Altec's. I compared the Z560's to the Altec 4100's in BestBuy the other day, and wasn't impressed with either of them. I thought the Logitech's were boomy, even with the bass turned down and lacked mid/tweet detail, and the Altec's lacked clarity at higher volumes, but sounded sweet otherwise. Of course, I'm assuming that the peanut heads at BB knew what they were doing when they hooked up all the connections.

Now I'm on a mission to find a local dealer with the Altec Lansing 641's so I could hear those.

Odds are that best buy is running a FM radio signal to their speakers, so they will of course sound boomy. According to Maximum PC, these are on par with the Klipsch, and about half the price.

I ordered the Z-560 from 2buystore 2 weeks back and got it last week ! I had placed the order late at night, and to my surprise the speakers shipped out next afternoon ! UPS delivered it the following Monday !!! The packaging was VERY nice (double boxed with the main speaker wrapped in thick plastic sheet). UPS website showed a shipping weight of 49 lbs ... and boy, the box WAS heavy. Paid $138 and change shipped ... couldn't have been better !!!

Very happy with this purchase ... would highly recommend both the Z-560 and 2buystore to anyone !

P.S. I called Logitech tech support before placing the order to make sure the part number was correct.

Does anyone know how long the rear speaker cable is? My rear wall is like directly 10' away from my tower so that might be a prob. Or as an off topic question, do you guys know how much 25' of speaker wire would be? ( I don't know what guage logitech gives you).

Even MORE off topic of a question... the rear speakers would be 10' away from head (as a direct line). Do you think the fader would be able to compensate that distance and would I risk blowing out the rear speakers trying to get them to compensate?

I know I asked a few random questions and I'm new here so if this is too off topic just let me know and I'll delete it but if someone already owns these and can answer these Q's it would be very much appreciated
