As I recall, when I bought my Sprint phone, they just gave me the phone. Didn't have to fill out anything in the store. You sign up for the service at home, on your own. Now, if I hadn't used my credit card, the store I bought from would have had no record of who bought the phone, etc. So common sense tells me that once you buy the phone, you don't have to activate it. Don't take my word for it, though.

Upon looking at the post again, if you don't activate the phone, you can't get the last $60 of that deal.

most of the time phones like that they make you use a credit card and if you dont activate it within 30 days they charge you like $250...

Not bad but it's a bit misleading to say "make $56" since it can only be used towards service and buying stuff at OD, depending on how u look at it.

A friend of mine made about $65 from sprint. He signed up for service and got a phone with a $100 MIR. The sprint store has a 14 day "money back" period. He sent in the rebate, but after a week he hated the service, so he went back and canceled and got his money back. A few weeks later he got the bill for the first month's service, which was prorated and totaled $36 ($30 was the activation fee). Then he got the $100 rebate still, and made $$$.

I was able to get the clip holster thing at Best Buy, but it cost $7. If you are nice to the Sprint reps, they might hook you up for free with some.
