Staples has a 120GB 5400 RPM External Maxtor hard drive on clearance for $97.50. (Price effective Halloween night) It only has a 2MB cache though, but for <$100 how can you go wrong. The only store in the DFW area I know that has any left as of now is the Allen store off McDermott. This should be a nationwide price. SKU is 486982 The 40 or the 80GB externals were still $179.99 so this seems to be a pretty hot deal. Good luck!
It is USB 1.1 compatible, and includes a 6 ft USB cable, external power adapter, installation cd, the hd/external closure itself. Works on 98SE/ME/2K/XP
NOTE: Apparently the $30 off $100 coupon is an online coupon only and the $20 off $100 printable coupon expired already. YMMV on the coupon itself - some stores may/may not take it.
Now with a $20 mail in rebate!!!!!!! **Thanks onerigger and Jack159!!!!!**
RebatesHQ rebate
NOTE2: Several members in this thread have reported you can take the hard drive out of the enclosure and use it as a regular internal drive. It might be more beneficial to some to put in a smaller drive and use it as a backup and have the 120 in your computer.
