I just replaced my second ms optical mouse....I have two that on a single click will DOUBLE click. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's almost impossible to do anything. I click X to close one window of my browser and it close two windows, etc. Drives me up the wall bigtime. They both worked fine for about 3 months or so then they both went to hell. I've tried no ms intellimouse driver, driver 4.0, 4.1, etc. Three computers and they freaking double click. Yes I adjusted double-click rate speed you. So I called up and he was willing to replace one. The second one I need to provide proof of purchase. Gotta find my newegg receipt...suck.

My micro$hit mouse started double clicking too this week. Called them up and I'll get a new one in 5-7 days.

forgot to mention..he tried to have me use the pdf replacement form but I told him it expired sep 30th...so he puts me on hold for a few mins and comes back and takes my info. I think I'm just gonna swap it with one from work and then call from work since we have the receipts and replace it from my corporation.

MS replaced my cordless mouse with a newer model. However, I'm still not too happy with the performance of the MS mouse. Next mouse will be a Logictech.

Cool I finally found this thread while in another thread. This prompted me to finally call them. It was very easy (they didnt even ask for the product ID or what was defective about it). Sadly it was back-ordered so I will get it in november. but for the easy proccess to get a new mouse.

Since this original post, it took me 3 months to send the mice back (9/20)...I got them about 3 weeks after that. I'm proud that I atleast got them returned in time.

Wow...that was so easy. I just called them, gave them my part number and address, and they said they'd send me a new one. They didn't even ask for the serial #. The CSR was really nice too.

This explains my experience as well. Unfortunately, it was on backorder at the time, but shipped the end of last week.

Cool, I sent them 2 and they sent me 3 back. The 3rd is one of the newer ambidextrous ones too, buttons on both sides.

Intellimouse Explorer the older version .. and they are replacing it~

my experience today regarding a MS Intellimouse Explorer replacement:

call #1 800.360.7561: need a copy of receipt and a scan of the bottom of my mouse faxed to 716-447-7330 and include my name, mailing address, and phone #

call #2 425.635.7040: gave my name, email and mailing address; got a reference #; transfered to another rep; told to call warranty replacement @ 800.360.7561 (ironic, no?); gave her my reference # and part # from the mouse; received an order number and told 3-4 weeks for a new mouse as they are on backorder.

well, not as smooth as some others have experienced, but not bad either. I love companies that support their customers after a sale. very nice...

got my new IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 in today. it's nice. smaller, in overall size as well as button size. works well in UT and UT2003. I am happy.

Was anything actually wrong with your mouse? I think it's great that MS is replacing these mice no-questions-asked, but I have a feeling a lot of people are abusing this offer just to get a new mouse. Yeh i know, it's Microsoft (evil empire and all), but it's still not right.

Uhm, lots of stuff has potential for abuse. Cars can be used to run pedestrians over, or do series of sniper shootings. Should cars be made illegal? People are using this thread as a legimate use, there were known issues with microsoft optical mouse. And asking people why they replaced there mouse? Not really anyones business, even if you want to police a forum witch hunt.
