Did those of you who sent in the replacement form through the mail receive some sort of confirmation letter? I sent my request in several weeks ago and have heard nothing since, I'm wondering if this is normal. If I don't hear anything soon I will probably try calling their customer service line, but I just wanted to check in here first.

I got mine on Thursday. Works good, but I also prefered the older IE mouse style. The IE 3.0 has small back and forward buttons

U should just call and speak to them in person. It's a lot easier I guess and you can save 37 cents!

Slightly OT for this thread, but it's really too bad that IBM won't do the same thing for purchasers of their 75GXP drives, since it's pretty clear that they have design defects that cause them to fail prematurely during their lifetimes. Microsoft really is displaying exemplary customer service in this case, offering even to pro-actively replace product which has been discovered to be prone to premature failure.

(Would I go so far as to wish that MS made HDs? Nahh...)

This is really sweet. I have a flaky button on my older Microsoft Mouse with IntelliEye, and since that model is no longer made, they upgraded me to the next best.

Painless!

Ok im still a little confused sorry

1. Does this apply to the intellimouse explorer optical WIRELESS?

2. Is the tail light on this mouse supposed to illuminate?

thanks

Thanks, thewooddogg!

I had two of the trackball opticals that were haywire and M$ took the scans of the bottom of them for proof of purchase after they could not find my registeration in their database.
I had never sent in the cards...I get so much M$ stuff that I'd need a card-filler-outter person just to take care of it all.

In other words, thewooddogg, you saved me a pile of research in posting this. It was one of those projects that you eventually get around to...however, "when?" was the criteria...now they are replaced, already.

Thanks for the original post--this mouse is useless the way it is.

AWESOME!! I had this problem my my SECOND Intellipoint Explorer (had the same problem w/ the first one). I have had it sitting here for serveral months broken, never was able to find the right place to call MS. Just called them and they said it was no problem at all!! All I did was give them the Product Number on the bottom. It was great! Im looking forward to throwing away this temperary ball mouse in the next few days!!! THANKS A BUNCH MAN!!!

NO That is incorrect
The tail DOES NOT LIGHT up...it consumes enough batteries as it is, and the tail does not light up compared to other explorers...if it gets flaky check your batteries. Thats usually the culprit...

wtf?!? i call them up, read the number, then they leave and come back and say its not a valid number!! its a freakin intellimouse explorer! would there be a deal that since i won it at a school contest that it wouldn't be valid? this is bunk! the guy i talked to, "keke", said i'd need to copy the bottom of the mouse and fax it in so they could verify it. jeesh......
