my inteliimouse optical acts erratically sometimes. like if i have my favorites open in the left side of IE, sometimes it will go bezerk and scroll up and down really fast. If I press the scroll wheel it seems to stop it sometimes.

umm why are you crapping on his deal when the one you talked about was two weeks ago and doesn't even exist anymore
HenHowC, because he wanted to point out a deal of $.99 mouse, I wanted to point out that $.99 mouse is not a deal. Everybody has the right to express his/her opinion.

I received mine today as well.

I mailed in my form about 2 weeks ago and waited. I did not receive any type of confirmation e-mail or letter and when I checked the status of my replacement, the website stated that it had not received anything from me. I was ready to call their customer service line in the next day or two, but luckily it's already arrived. Good luck to the rest of you.

Mine just died last night; something wrong with the wiring. I can move the wire around and the lights go on and off. It had been working flawlessy until then. Called today. Had to answer some questions about how I found out about the replacement program, but no 3rd degree or anything. I guess they must be getting many illegitimate calls. She took my P/N and Product ID numbers. She said they were in stock, up to 10 business days to ship. This is my second good experience with MS Customer Service. I bought an open box Sidewinder Dual Strike controller from Best Buy that was missing the install CD. Since the drivers weren't on the site, I called up and they shipped a CD out.

Just got off the phone... Microsoft is sending me yet another replacement Explorer. This makes the third free one they've sent me. Will be here in ten business days or less.

Microsoft can be very cool.

"I wanted to point out that $.99 mouse is not a deal. Everybody has the right to express his/her opinion."

sonotoridesu!!! would anyone like to hear me express my opinion of him? and while he clarified that as much as mud, i noticed that he didn't say much as a peep about his fantasy deal of an intellimouse explorer for $3 INSTANTLY! clarify that, why don't he???
and i never said MY link was hot, going to reread and see if i AT LEAST said it was a deal...

unclebud, why are you so excited?
You're afraid to point out a $0.99 mouse deal, so I helped you out and suggested others that it's not a hot deal.

The fry's $3 after rebate ms wheel mouse optical deal has been posted in this hot deal forum, it's not my own fantasy.

You can still get the ms wheel mouse optical for $6-7 after rebate from amazon or buycom anytime now.

Just called and gave them all the numbers on the bottom of my mouse and they said it (IntelliMouse Optical USB/PS2) is in stock. 3-10 business days. They were cool about it. If this fixes all the USB mouse-related problems I spent soooo much time trying to fix, then I'm a retard. *shrug*

Anyone scamming MS based on this thread will have to answer to me!

"unclebud, why are you so excited?"
because people like konoyatsu are what's ruining hot deals -- that deal of his is so wack (i can get turtle beach @ cusa cheaper!), but did i come in and bust it up with a better one? nah.

"You're afraid to point out a $0.99 mouse deal, so I helped you out and suggested others that it's not a hot deal."
oh and i just bet he helps old ladies across the street by chasing them down on his tricycle. friends like him... and who said it was a hot deal???

"The fry's $3 after rebate ms wheel mouse optical deal has been posted in this hot deal forum, it's not my own fantasy."
it's definitely his fantasy posting it like it's a deal one can still get...

"You can still get the ms wheel mouse optical for $6-7 after rebate from amazon or buycom anytime now."
I DON'T ORDER ONLINE *raps on bone*. and is the intellimouse offer worth SIX/SEVEN times as much, even after discounting the fact that one MIGHT NOT get their rebate? *moves new .99 mouse across screen and clicks some* nope.

I had to get both my keyboard and mouse replaced (
I called the 10th and gave them the part # and said they would replace it.

Half the buttons on my keyboard wouldn't work, while the other half did And my mouse; when I would shift it really quickly (I'm a gamer) it'd like freeze halfway.

unclebud,
as I said before, MS rebate is reliable and fast - about 1 month, have you ever seen people complaining about not receiving MS rebate here?

MS wheel mouse optical is worth 6 times the price of a $0.99 no-name ball mouse:
1. it's usb with usb to ps/2 converter
2. it's MS, you don't need to install any software to use the wheel in windows
3. it's optical mouse
4. it's MS's 2nd generation optical
5. it has 3 years warranty - when it goes bad, call anytime to get a replacement immediately, no need to file rma, no need to send back the bad mouse.
6. you can abuse this replacement offer now to make it buy 1 get 1 free

6 reasons for 6 times the price, ok?

I use this online order $6.xx MS wheel mouse optical to bust/do deal crapping (whatever you like to call) your $0.99 out the door no-name ball mouse, do you agree?
If you don't agree, that's fine.

I'll have to call this in on Monday when they are open again.

I got the Intellimose Explorer the first week they were out for $70. After about a year it started to shut off and would work again sometimes if I shook it but most of the time it required a reboot to get it going. Then a few months later as quickly as the problem appeared it dissapeared and has been the best mouse I've ever owed ever since and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I think I'll get a new one though since mine is "unreliable".

Unclebud, your counter example is not valid, it's about ms software upgrade rebate.
the ms mouse rebate doesn't require you to have the upc from an old hardware.

You should know almost all rebate requires the upc to prove you really did purchase it, that's the rule, it's clearly stated on the rebate form. And you could refund it if you find out you don't have the old software's upc, that'd be a easy job (if you haven't opened the new software) since you only buy from b&m (you said that).

For the ms software upgrade rebate case, it's the consumers' fault not reading the rules on the rebate form before they make the purchase. When you're buying something with upgrade rebate, you should make sure you've the old hardware/software's upc before you make the purchase.

Unclebud, you don't buy online and don't like rebate, you will miss a lot of hot deals.

I called a few days ago and the rep said that my mouse is still out of stock. She said they'll probably have some in next month. She said people who mailed in there submission like there suppose to will be getting the mice first simply cause of the place which receives them has them in stock. She said by calling in the return it is coming from a different place which don't have any in stock. Not only that but she said that people there weren't suppose to even take the order but instead tell the people to mail in the form. Wtf?!? Got a bad feeling I won't be receiving my mouse or receiving it anytime in the next few weeks.

My Upgrade Status page says In Process. I was fortunate enough to be able to fix my old mouse. I took the thing apart and noticed that the way the wire is fed out the back of the mouse allows it to get "crimped." I cut out this part and spliced the wire back together. There was some room to stuff the taped up wire in the mouse and then I fed it back out. Put it all back together and it is working fine again (hopefully for another year +). Now if I could only find where I misplaced the fourth screw.

I believe the problem lies in the original Explorer mice... the 3.0s seemed to be "fixed" from the factory.
The replacement I got was a 3.0

This is what I did:

Print out coupon
scan bottom of faulty mouse
send that printout of the coupon and scan to the CLifton, NJ address

Within 2 weeks I got a replacement 3.0 mouse
