LOL Willeth!! I'm doing the same thing so I can copy mine!

I thought this was a hot deal because it's really quite easy, don't need to argue with them at all, or tell any sob story. They know their mice can be defective.

The hot deal ----> An easy replacement for your intellimouse, possibly even before it breaks!

I have the explorer. I had problems w/ it on multiple PC's where it would double click when I single clicked many times. But not EVERY time, using version 3.0 of the intellimouse software, mostly.

I called the 800#, they asked for the serial # on the bottom, and sent me a new mouse. said it would take a while (a month maybe) 'cuz they were on backorder. It came a few days later. Never had to send the old one back. That was about 1yr ago. Replacement is still working fine.

For all the bad stuff they say about MS, they have good support for a hardware company.

I lost the right button on our rodent.
Use the Web site to file a complaint.
Within 2 days had authorization for replacement - to be shipped within a week.
1 Week a delay letter came stating out-of-stock - ETA 1 July.
2 days after the letter, up shows a new sealed mouse.

They did not want the old one back.
Lucky timing, the old one lost its tail yesterday (puppy chewed through it)

Ok, where is the web site to enter your data into to get a replacement mouse? I hear of a few people using this site, but no one has posted a link, please share with us!

Does everyone's product ID number match the number of spaces on the form? I seem to be 2 numbers short of filling all the boxes? Anyone else having this problem or do I have a wrong version of the mouse? Danke.

That was AWESOME. I just told them "a button is flaky" and they took my info and asked for my info and I should recieve my new mouse in 3-10 days. It was interesting that I found this today cuz just last night one of my buttons really did flake out on me. Thanks guys for your excellent service to these forums.

Awesome Inverse! So it does work well through the phone!
Instructions on how to do the website thing would be helpful as well.

I think you are crossing the line here. I understand the people that have a broken mouse, but you are encouraging people to get replacement when they are working fine and now you are asking if you can keep getting more. This is abusing MS's Replacement offer.

hmmmm, I wonder if you could call again on the new mouse that you would receive.....

I called the 800 supplemental support #, pressed 0, and they took care of me...it was really easy.

People do not abuse the MS Replacement Offer before you mess it up for everyone. Do not try to get a new one after they already sent you a new one unless its broken.

This is a hot deal. I'm one of the happy customers from MS mouse hardware. My middle scroll wheel stopped working on my old MS intellimouse ver 1, so I called em up, they asked for the P/N number on the bottom of the mouse and sent me a NEW retail packaged VERSION 3 intellimouse explorer. I got it within a couple days, no need to send back the old. So I still have the old for an emergency. Very good stuff. MS is great about supporting thier hardware... now if only they were that good about the software.

Anyway, I'm chiming in to add my voice to the people saying to call them. Much easier that way, takes like 5 mins the total process including wait time (at least it did for me), and then its a free 800 call.

From what I understand, the intellimouse explorer has a lifetime warranty, thats one of the reasons I got it, and I'm glad I did.

I was just reading that MS letter from that link on the first post, and it says they will extend warranty for 90 days from the posting of that letter. So if your warranty is out on an MS optical mouse, it would be a good idea to consider utilizing it if you have had a problem with it before 90 days is up.

I'm with Pothead and Hotfuzion, don't abuse the offer, but if you feel your mouse is acting up, as described by my original post, then get a new one before your warranty expires!!

Whats to say my mouse won't break really bad after the warranty expires!

I'm sure tons of people on the boards will abuse this. And they're no doubt the same people who whine incessantly about the anti-piracy "activation" features built into new windows products.

Say what you want about Microsoft, but their replacement policy on hardware really can't be beat.

It looks like quite a few people were told it was on backorder, but then they received the item in a week or so.

It's a possibility that they say 3-4 weeks just to be safe if they are a little short.

Ok, I gave up on trying to do the call in thing. I called 2 times and both times the person told me to fill out the form and mail it in. I guess it will take even longer for me to get my mouse, it's a good thing I live in WA, so it won't be in the mail very long.
