I put an order in the 21st of last month. have yet to receive it. Still says backordered. I had a bad cursor problem. The damn thing liked to zigZag all over the screen for no reason. I ended up tossing it in the closet. Paid close to $50 for it, was the intellimouse explorer.

As for ibm drives. Well i'll never buy another. I bought a 60gb 7200rpm drive a while back right after they hit the shelves and paid close to $200 for it I think. It lasted about 6months then died. I could not remember what place I got it from online. Well ibm said even tho the sticker on it is an ibm sticker, that its a quantum drive. So I called them. No go. So back to calling ibm. Well the number wasn't in the computer systems. They did tell me it might have been an oem drive for a dell pc. I told them it still should have some kind of warranty. I would not have bought it if I didn't see a warranty provided. At least 1yr (had a manuf date on the drive that was under 6month old!). Well in the end they refused to provide a warranty. So I ended up taking a hammer to it. Boy was I pissed off. I never heard of such an item like this. I told them I got the drive cause I was told its the best, boy was I totally mislead.

How long did it take for you guys to get an email from Microsoft even saying that the mice were on backorder? I sent mine in almost two weeks ago and I haven't heard the first thing yet.

Call the 800# on June 26, 2002 and gave the rep the part# of my old optical (not an explorer) mouse (no fax, no copies of bottom) and got this reply the same day (personal info changed to protect the innocent [me]):

Received it July 5, 2002. Bill Gates might be the anti-christ, but MS's customer service, rebates included, is second to none.

Mine arrived yesterday. Full retail, even with a $10 rebate tag on it. That was quick!

Do i have to send in my faulty mouse to MS in order to recieve a new one or what? How does this work? If you dont have to send in you mouse, couldnt you just take a picture of you working mouse bottom and claim that it doesnt work. Im just unclear on what to do.

about the compusa $0.99 mouse, such junk ps/2 ball mouse is not a hot deal when you can get ms wheel mouse optical usb/ps2 for $3 and buy one get one free.

deal crapping is a common practice here.
why do people call it thread crapping? it should be called deal crapping, we're crapping on the deal, not the thread or person.

it's 99 cents out the door! what deal has an instant rebate on an ms optical making it $3? IN STOCK?

although it's not instant rebate, mail-in rebate for ms product is prompt and reliable.
the $3 wheel mouse optical was from fry's 2 weeks ago, $13 - 10 mail-in rebate + buy one get one free thru this replacement program.
you just pay $13 + tax out the door, get back $10 and another mouse promptly.

the ms wheel mouse optical is $25 list price, $20 at fry's when it's not on sale.

umm why are you crapping on his deal when the one you talked about was two weeks ago and doesn't even exist anymore

$0.99 is pretty nice especially for non-hardcore computer users, you could get a bunch of these for the office at work and they would never notice the difference.

btw. called MS and got a replacement for my explorer....tight
