I got one. Great mouse for everyday use (wife's PC), but it's a no-go for gamers. You need the detents in the mouse wheel for weapon changing.

There are some good deals afoot for the Logitech MX510 out there, that may be your best mouse for gaming given the current pricing.

1. Download the 5.2 drivers from MS website. The 5.0 that comes with the mouse is buggy. <- Never had a problem.

2. The scroll wheel does not have the usual detents but scrolls smoothly/continuously and takes some getting used to. I don't game anymore but would probably avoid this mouse if I did. When I played UT and Q3, I usually swapped weapons with the scroll wheel. <- I wouldn't recommend ANY wireless mouse for gaming, but yes, it does make weapon switching difficult (nothing, and I mean nothing, beats the single scroll click buttons on the MX510 for that). Other than weapon switching it is one of the best wireless mice I have ever used for gaming. I have this and an MX510 though because I just cannot make the tradeoff.

3. Due to the ergonomic slope of the mouse, the "scroll button" action seems rather stiff and unresponsive unless you slide your hand slightly forward so that you can press slightly down and back. <- this actually gets alot better after a little use, on the one I have my hand on right now (a month or so old) a light press is all it takes to activate the button.

4. Some complain about the high placement of the side buttons. Personally, I like them high so that I don't accidently press. <- We agree on this!

Setting aside these issues, this is a very high quality mouse for the money.

Also to the poster above who said the scroll wheel is stiff, it is a little stiff when its new, but both this month old one and the other 6 month old one I have broke in nicely over the span of a few weeks. Both the scroll buttons (down and side to side) and the scroll wheel.

I've used the mouse for 4 days now and it's not stiff anymore. It's a nice deal. One thing I don't understand is: does the optical light ever to go off. When the computer is off, it's still on and reacting to motion. I don't have transparent surface to watch from below, but everytime I turned it and looked it was on.

I just got this mouse earlier this week. I really like the looks of it and it works great! I recommend this item for only 15.00!

That's normal.

I picked one up, and returned it the next day. If you're running anything above 1600x1200, this mouse just doesn't offer the precision you need to make small movements. There's a noticable lag too, and couple that with the crappy response time on my laptop for example, the mouse becomes unusable. My wired 3 year old Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 is infinitely more responsive. I really liked the scroll wheel for web pages, but for gaming it was horrid like people warned. Reciever needed to be awfully close too. Not very impressive. I'd like wireless, but I'm not willing to accept lag or a lack of resolution.

Damn refrigerator light. The thing's always on. Whenever I open the door, the light's on.

a little bit off the topic: my local CompUSA has terrible return policy for online order shipment, they only refund store credit to you, and you only have 21 days to return it.
