Ad week 12/17-12/23 - very good deal. regular $129.99, now just $79.99. uses the gps chipset known as the SirfIII - very accurate - usb powered. just plug it into your laptop and go. many times the gps receiver using this chipset is ~$80 by itself.

i personally have a gps unit using the same chipset and it works excellent, very accurate to the point that when i am a passenger in a car, i will start it up just to see how accurate and reliable these are - i can see when they are changing lanes on the map on the laptop.

the maps are good and up-to-date. i recently went on a trip to southern CA and if we didn't have a gps we would have been spent so much time looking at maps anywhere in the congested cities.

good price. i just got the same price in summer that for the 2006. now 2007 is out. wish they do a upgradeable exchange. haha

Nice deal. I don't know how practical it is to always have the laptop in the car, though. I hope the in-car units come down into this price range soon.

I agree. I want those portable unit in under $150 price range. Laptop is just too bulky to look up, and drive in congested traffic.
