Out of stock!

"Registered" mean ECC (Error Correction Code)can be enabled. Most server systems require registered RAM.

Naw...Most "servers" require ECC. Most servers accept ECC registered.
SOME servers required ECC registered. Of course, I am bundling in
all dual processor boxes that are putatively sold as "servers"
as servers. If you limit yourself to hardcore true server boxes
(you know what I'm talking about), then yes, most required registered
memory.

On the other hand, most personal use PCs will accept ECC memory
but ignore the ECC functionality. And most home PCs will NOT
accept registered memory...

Hey all, Regis posted here that he got all four of his Mushkin sticks to post in his 6400. Hadn't installed the OS yet but it's pretty likely they'll work if the machine posts.

Good news for those of us who ordered!

Holy crap you guys, I just came very close to buying some. I've already got two sticks of crucial sitting here waiting for my 6400. I was putting in my credit card information and everything. Whew, too close!

Well, bad news for you =) I took a risk and grabbed four of em. What's sad is that I paid $175 for a 128MB stick of Mushkin a year ago! =) Gotta love their packaging too!

we did sell out of those despite my post yesterday about having them in stock until next week. we sold some pretty big orders yesterday afternoon. we are trying to get more chips in next week to build some more modules but no confirmation yet. i'll post status one way or another as soon as i know for sure. also, we have had several customers call to confirm that they do work with the gateway 6400.

Darn... I got a couple to see if they worked, and if they did was gonna buy more...

Guess if I can wait for a server, I can wait for another memory deal...

there are other listings at pricewatch.com for 256MB ECc Registered. Might not be as good of a deal as this but hey.

I ordered this RAM last Sunday and it was delivered on Tuesday - $11 FedEx shipping. It works just fine in my FreeTech Athlon series P7F200A2 mother board. Thanks for the tip! :cool

Thanks for taking the time to post all the info. I hope you
get some more of these sticks available & post when they are.

Again, thanks in advance,

mushkin, would you kindly tell me if the OLD chipset of MVP3 would work? (socket 7) It would be great to see that PC come back to life...

hello all,
good news and bad news. first the good news is that we finally got some of those chips built and back in stock!
256mb PC133 ECC Registered Mushkin w/IBM 32x4 chips
the bad news is that they went up in cost by 10 bucks and are now $48 instead. still pretty low for that much ECC reg but not as *HOT* as they were.
jackywebdesign, i doubt that they will work with the MVP3 chipset. it was out long before the 32x4 density was created and that was a PC100 compatible chipset and these are PC133 modules. you could probably use them but they would only count up as 128mb modules.

Lewis,

Please consider building some 512 megs sticks with those chips . The 6400 can take up to 2 gigs with its 4 dimm slots.

My friend just got one yesterday and I tried it on an Asus K7V and it only reads 128MB at PC100. It will not boot up when I try to switch to PC133. Mushkin Rep says it's because it is ECC Registered, but if so , why would it only read 128MB at PC100? Strange Anyway, my friend called them and they're going to send him an unbuffered one to try out. CSR was very cool also.

LewisMushkin:
I am building out a Toshiba Magnia server, using an Intel L440GX+ mainboard. This mobo is the fastest version of the board, listed as L440GXG. I'm looking at Intel's Tech Spec for the memory. It lists the ECC PC133 in a 32x8 config as compatible with the mobo. As I am only partly familiar with RAM and chip designations, could you reply by PM (click on my lock symbol at top left of my message), and let me know if this IBM HD stick would work for me? Thanks! And, anyone else could weigh in here, as well....
