I just came back from staples and they still had the old clearance tag of 249.99 after $50 rebate. meaning it rings up at $300. Well I noticed that one of old high school classmates was working there and I asked him to ring up the price for me. He did and it rang-up at 179.50 . I just got home and am now using it to wrote this. The thing I forgot was to get the open box tag so i could send my rebate. I have to go back to the store.

Plenty at the staples in Manhattan, KS. You may try calling and ordering via the phone and telling them you saw them on sale in manhattan or something. Also, I got 2 dvd-rs cause they were on sale for cheaper than before. They were $10 - $5 mir, so if you use the $50 coupon it's the same as if you just used the $30/150. Works out great. Thanks for the sweet post weirdbooks. Welcome to the AT Forums!!!

Ok, if anyone wants a display 19" monitor in the Ada, OK area pm me. They are out of stock online ruined my plan.....

Store on Glenway, Cincinnati, said they had "some," I got one. $179.50 + office supplies i'll be reimbursed for to get to $200 - $50 off $200 coupon +7% sales tax - $50 MIR + stamp = $88.92 for a nice LCD monitor.

BTW the shelf had the $299.99 - $50 MIR = $249.99 tag, rang up at $179.50.

There's all kinds of stickers with bar codes on the box, whichever do I send in?

Thanks for the heads up OP!! I was able to snag 2 of these tonight @ 2 different Staples. I had to do some driving but for that price it was worth it! Both were brand new in the box. The 2nd store I went to still had 1 more. I couldn't find a printable 30off150 so I just used a 20off85 at both stores and had no problems.

I got 1 also from my local staples... it was a floor unit but the manager said that they just opened up the box 5 days ago because that location just opened. I checked it out and it was like brand new. The manual was missing so he took 10% off and inaddition to this he took my 50 off of 200 coupon.

Here's the vague breakdown:

Cost: $179
- 10%: $150
Add: $50 worth of pens/folders/etc.
subTotal: $200
-coupon: $50
Total: $150
Tax: $165
-rebate: $50

Grand total: $115

Good luck!

I have one on reserve in my hometown and am having my parents pick it up. I'm in school.
Staples folks there were very nice, took their time checking, and asked if I wanted it reserved. Cool

Staples here in Virginia near me still have the old clearance price in their system, scanned boxes too and mgr said he didnt know of any further reductions yet...so I will have to wait. This was at 2 different stores. And they had the 17 and 19inch CRTS in stock new and couple of the LCDs as well.

My local only has the display and if they were in stock they would want $299 for it.

The manager says they send the displays back or something like that; they just don't sell them.
I then mentioned that many stores do seem to offer it at $179 and he said if they want to take a loss that's their choice. He claimed that at $299 it was still going for a loss. Right.

When does Staples move from C code clearance to F code clearance? IS that only when the end date is reached on the C code tag, or do they do it before? I picked up the NEC 17" LCD that had the C code end date of 10/11, for $329 AR. Does Staples reduce these to F clearance before the end date on the tag, or will it not go to Final until the end date?

Thanks.

I just bought the 97f crt monitor but it was open box. They didn't have the box or the upc codes. Two rebates also printed out for different department numbers. I am curious though the associate told me the shelf tag could be used for the rebate in place of the upc from the box. Do I also need this open box tag or is the shelf tag good enough for the rebate center? Thanks for the deal weirdbooks.

You should have taken the monitor to checkout, and watch the cashier ring it up at 179.50. That's in their registers; there is nothing the manager can do about that price unless he manually overrides it.

Thanks!

I was told by two managers from different stores (and different districts) that the shelf tag will work for the rebate, and I had any trouble they would be happy to take care of it at the store (read: refund the refund amount).

In fact, none of the managers or employees I spoke to at 6 different stores even had such a thing as an open-box tag, they had none, and had never written one up. So I am assuming the "clearance" shelf tag would be the same thing.

Hope that makes sense!

I got one today. Sales Manager looked at me funny when I told him to ring it up! He was like "I'll be damned, I bet the $50 rebate is still good too" and then started having a bad attitude. Doesnt matter, still got one.

This monitor is extremely bright compared to the 19" CRT I have! I actually thought my CRT monitor messed up in the switching of monitors.
