FWIW, I've had this drive for a couple of weeks now, and it's rock solid. With the modded firmware found over on cdrfreaks.com, this drive rips at around 9-11X and burns all the 8x media I give it @ 16X. Best $40 I've spend on my system to date.

ResellerRatings has a really funky scoring scheme that often doesn't seem to match the user comments. Case in point is Monarch. The score would indicate that they are the best store on Earth, while the user comments are frequently less than stellar.

FWIW: I think the reason these are being sold so cheap is the mod 4550 is on the way (already avail in U.K., Japan)
supposedly solves all the jitter probs
