saw this posted on another board, i'm hoping it true...

If your rebate is denied due to amazon's late shipping, Amazon will refund the rebate amount to you. So there is no worry. Just contact Amazon in advance (e.g., 2 weeks before the rebate deadline) and explain the situation. Always don't forget to keep all records for their promise (email, csr's name, etc) just for the case of dispute.

The amazon rebate doesn't have a postmark date [that I saw] just the netgear ones. Would tha still apply. Where can you find amazon phone numbers, even after clicking through several of their help pages all I could still find was email link.

Amazon postmark date is there, you missed it. It is 3/24/03.

i got in on this deal too but it went sour when my order went to office depot. cancelled the PC Card online immediately and had to call office depot to cancel over the phone.

weird part is, amazon shipped me that PC Card anyway, and it doesn't even show up under my account history but the office depot router does. wonder if they'll charge my card for the pc card even there isn't a matching purchase order for it.

Yea, I received my card almost immediately, but still haven't gotten the router. I'm concerned about the rebate, but I'll wait till the router ships to see what the invoice says. If the date is not in the correct range, I'll return everything. What do you think? Should I wait or just cancel now?

Got a reply from Amazon which said don't worry, rebate doesn't need to be sent until postmark of 4-13. To which I replied, yeah except the one from amazon that has a 3-24 postmark date!

Will let yall know what happens.

Okay, I called up Amazon, and spoke with an extremely polite lady named Stephanie Gilbert in the Home Orders Department. She said that there's been a lot of calls about this problem, and that Amazon is going to extend the eipry date of the rebate. She said:

1. Include a note with your rebate that you recieved the product late, and was told that the rebate would be honored.
2. If by chance it isn't (beauracracy can get the best of things), call up Amazon and they will specifically take care of it.
3. If by chance it comes so late that your Netgear rebates are screwed up, still send them in and notify Amazon and they will work with you, and at last resort, cover the loss from the Netgear rebates for you.

A BIG thumbs up to you Stephanie. Good customer service means repeat customers! Hope this helps, guys.

hmm.. I have a problem

someone advised to get the USB wireless adapter at COmpUSA. it's $60, and after rebates, $0. well, I have two $30 rebates here. One is just for buying the USB adapter, the other is for buying the USB adapter along with the Netgear router. Problem is, both rebates want the ORIGINAL UPC. what should I do?? obviously they both want the USB adapter UPC. maybe for the rebate that requires you to buy the router, I could send in the router's UPC? this sucks.. if i had known the details of the rebate, I may not have gotten this setup.
