I thought this was a hot deal on a new model. I was hoping for color when I clicked on this thread! The $25 rebate makes it warm.

I just checked the specs at SonyStyle. It has a Memory Stick slot, runs on two AAA batteries, and comes with a sync cable (not cradle).

Just a thought... isn't the T415 a better deal than this one? Both are $150 on Sony's website... but the T415 is a lot thinner, has an aluminum casing, rechargeable battery and a USB cradle... although SL10's screen seems to be better, both in size and in quality, and its much shorter.

Tough choice...

is 'new' model as in 'just released', not "new' as in 'latest and greatest'.

Word has it that there are two more models coming out in the line: PEG-SL20 and PEG-SL30. The SL20 is still black and white but will have a rechargeable battery while the SL30 will be in color. No specs or release dates yet on these.

[BTW, what's so problematic bout the T415? - Ed.]

I wanted to get the T415 so badly, but every review or comment I read mentioned something bad about the contrast on the screen. The LCD 'ink' and screen is actually blue-ish instead of black or grey and the screen highly reflective. People complain that is is nearly impossible to read without the backlight - especially with the thinner fonts.

There was a comment on this screen being better than the T415 at bargainpda.com.

I personally had alot of problems with the T415. If you are interested in more info about that, email me craigw@hushmail.com. Honestly I can't recommend it at all, though you may have a better experience with it.

i have the t415, very happy with it.

i must admit that there are some situations where the screen is hard to read, but it is very good in probably 80% of the places i have been with it. the high res screen made it worth the $200 i paid 2 months ago. pm me if you have questions too..

the SL10 seems to be nice, but i hate pdas that dont have a built in battery pack, too easy to let the AAAs to die and lose your data (happened twice to me in the 8 months i had my visor deluxe)
