I think that there is one thing forgotten in this deal! Man, that is one butt-ugly desk!! I suppose if I had a store close enough and was willing to wait for the rebate, I could give it to an in-law that I hated. Other than that, refer to the first statement.
BTW, this is not to crap on the deal at all. That was one hell of a find! Even if it is butt-ugly, a free desk is still a good find for the Hot Deals!

it looks pretty simple to me.
it also comes with a filing desk or whatever.

not too shabby for 100 bucks with 100 dollar rebate.

It's not that ugly if you consider that this desk in coordination with other stuff in a house. It's probably only ugle if you don't have any long, straight narrow things nearby it to set off the accent. This desk probably isn't worth the $100 it costs, but I'm sure it's worth it for free!!!

Are you guys serious or just seriously missguided?!?! C'mon, it's seriously ugly at BEST. Still a heck of a find for free but the only thing I can think to do with it would be to donate it to my local Goodwill and get some tax relief for next year's filings.
However, (this is the "trying to understand the other side mode") if you either don't have any furniture at all or perhaps don't care as long as it fills a space, then I think you should go for it.

As I said, this is a good "Hot Deals" post; I'm not crapping on it. I just think it is amazing that they could even ask people to pay for this thing in the first place!

Are you certain? The rebate states that it is 50% off the list, then it presents the rebate for $100...is anyone certain that you only pay 99 bucks in the first place?

Next, has anyone set up your monitor and box on top of this? I can see a 19" Sony Trinitron FD with a new 3G Hz 850 MOBO with the latest serial ATA crashing down on the floor because of the weight.

Whoever put this up, or anyone, have you set this up yet?

The price for this desk, lets see..

$100 - 100 MIR + 0.32 stamp + .01 envelope + the wait for the rebate to come back = $0.33 + the wait.

I bet you buy one of those wheel and it would be more then $0.33. But maybe you can beat the wait for the rebate.

Probably, but if you use in-store pickup, the price changes to $199. That's the reason the reabate is only good for in-store purchase, the price is $100 more.

guys, the desk scanned at OD B&M for 99.97 and MIR form prints out after the receipt.

So it is confirmed that Free after MIR (pay tax only)

I called my local Office Depot. The price was $199.97, but when I mentioned the website, they told me to just bring in a print out from the website and they'd match their own price.
