ClubIT has the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, ver. 3.3, for $116.98 + $7.49 FedEx ground shipping.

It's in stock and is what is advertised.....a DS3 ver. 3.3. Got one delivered Monday and is just what is pictured and advertised. And it has a slightly different cap layout than previous versions, like the ver. 2 that seems to be the current version shipping from Newegg.

Don't know if this is hot or not, but since the ver. 3.3 is so sought after, it's nice to find an etailer who is shipping it at a decent price and has it in stock.

This was my first order from them and it went great.....very smooth and at least as good as Newegg. Good packing, quick shipping. And, for those that care, the shipping agent of their choice was FedEx.....which probably explains some of the higher shipping cost.

An update:

A lot of questions have been posed about the differences between the Rev. 2. shipping from most suppliers, like Newegg, and the Rev. 3.3 board from ClubIT.

I've had both the Rev. 2 and the Rev. 3.3 in my possession simultaneously and the cap layout is slightly different between the two revisions.

I don't know if the cap differences were done to enable 1333FSB or solve other issues, I just do know there were distinct cap layout differences between the two.

Look at these two pictures:

Rev. 2 from Newegg.

Rev. 3.3 from ClubIT.

Those two pics accurately represent what I had in a Rev. 2 board and a Rev. 3.3 board.

Notice the increase in numbers of capacitors surrounding the cpu socket? That seems to be the most noticeable difference, but if you closely study both boards, you'll see caps either moved, changed in size, and/or changed in number in some areas on the board.

Why the differences? I'm guessing the reasons are most likely twofold....increased stability for the 1333FSB and solve other stability/compatibility issues. This is just a guess.....but since there are very distinct layout differences between the two boards, and the major point of difference Gigabyte is pushing with the new Rev. is its 1333FSB stability, I cannot think of any other reasons for the changes.

Oh, and the NB heat sink changed a bit, too.....pretty w/the Gigabyte name plastered on it, now....

I hope this helps answer at least some of the questions about what is different between the two revisions of the DS3.

This is hot.

3.3 DS3 for about the same as an S3 Shipped.

I was thinking about jumping up to a DQ6 for my build but this is too hot. Thanks OP.

Edit: $132 shipped via 3-day FedEx. (I know, FedEx ground is just as good 99% of the time. Not sure what superstitious force drove mt to pay the few extra bucks.)

Suh-weet. The only bad thing is, now I've gotta buy some DDR2 and a Core 2. Anybody wanna buy a TForce?

Oh this thread is perfect. I just returned my Rev. 2.0 board to newegg. Much thanks to OP.

You should really update the title. This is a super hot deal at the current price. It is somewhat offset by the rather high shipping ($20 for 3-day, $14.50 5-7 day to me on the East Coast)...but still a great deal for someone who needs the Rev. 3.3 board.

Edited......lost track of this posting so never re-edited the price....sorry.

Have had this board for 1 1/2 weeks now and it has been running rock solid stable. Some of the included software, on the other hand, seems to be of a lower, ummmm, quality shall we say than the motherboard......... Glad the board is better than some of the tweaking software Gigabyte included.

I think if they guarantee rev3.3 then it's fairly nice, but the price is similar everywhere tho.

Yeah this price really isnt just all that great, its just one of the few who has 3.3 and has it at a decent price. Give it a few weeks and many other places im sure will have 3.3's as well. For me, I live in CA so....ill pay tax. Not much of a deal anymore after tax.

Well, all I can say is that the webpage at ClubIT specifically says the board is a Rev. 3.3 and that's exactly what arrived from them after placing my order.

I was told last week that everyone was shipping Rev. 3.3 boards.....specifically Newegg in this instance, but as you can read, Newegg is still shipping Rev. 2 boards even this week as a previous poster said he just received that from the "egg.

So, ultra-hot price? Probably not. A guaranteed Rev. 3.3 of the DS3 board for this price? Decent deal at least.....as I've not seen it listed as 3.3 specifically anywhere else at this price.

Like my OP said, hot or not....a good deal for those seeking the 3.3 version of the DS3, which has a few changes to the board.

Why is the 3.3 special?

Honest question. I was toying with the idea of building a new rig, Intel for the first time, and Gigabyte's my favorite mobo manufacturer. 3.3 is worth getting because...???

Thanks -

From Rev 2 to Rev 3.3 you going from 1066 FSB to `1333 FSB which future proofs the motherboard in case you upgrade your processor which had the newest 1333 FSB.

what's the big deal about getting rev 2? just flash the bios to a rev3.3 and you will get the 1333fsb

I've had both the Rev. 2 and the Rev. 3.3 in my possession simultaneously and the cap layout is slightly different between the two revisions.

In some manner, getting the BIOS todo the 1333FSB seemed to be more than just a BIOS flash....there are physical differences between the two boards that were probably necessary to get the board to stably do the 1333FSB.

I don't know if the cap differences were done to enable 1333FSB or solve other issues, I just do know there were distinct cap layout differences between the two.

I've heard that......it seems very hit-'n'-miss as to what version Newegg ships. Some people are getting Rev. 3.3 and some people are still getting Rev. 2. Maybe it depends upon the warehouse it ships from?

As I posted before, it really doesn't matter who the board comes from, just that when you buy one you get the Rev. 3.3.....the substantial differences in the capacitor layout would seem, at least to me, to make the Rev. 2 version an unacceptable board to take now.

I think most interested in this board are quite familiar with the issues this particular board had with Micron D9 memory in its initial BIOS revisions, so since the physical layout of the board has so changed now, no matter where you purchase it, I'd only accept a Rev. 3.3.

This thread is just to help those get a Rev. 3.3 without having to resort to RMA'ing a possible Rev. 2 that arrives from a reseller....ClubIT has both versions on its website and I'd think there are still stocks of Rev. 2 still floating around from other resellers.

So, I was just trying to help out by pointing out a place that guarantees a Rev. 3.3 of the DS3 board...not that this is an especially hot deal. I'll gladly delete this thread or whatever when Rev. 2 boards finally disappear from the supply chain.

I ordered from MWave beginning of last month and got a Rev 2. Would have liked a 3.3 for the same price now but ah well! I'll just order another board later if I need to.

We know Rev. 2 Boards work and work well so I don't know if there's really a need to try and RMA a Rev. 2 for a Rev. 3.3

This is the one slight issue I've really had with newegg over the years. Unless they have a new SKU you are never really sure which revision you will be getting. Or what revision reviews may be based off of.

I'm really happy to see an updated north bridge cooler. The last one, while pretty, wasn't terribly effective. I'm still thinking about throwing on an after market northbridge cooler though
