The X850 XT is supposed to compete with the 6800 Ultra. I'd say it's a bit more powerful than the 6800GT, especially in D3D games.

Same here..ordered at about 5 pm yesterday and it's on backorder!! I was wondering..if it's on backorder, we should still get the rebate even if the card comes late because the order date is 1/02 right?

for what ?

see the posts above mine . . . if you bought it at the B&M you only pay $240 . . . not $250 online even though it appears to be the same ad.
20% off of $300 is $240 - $50 rebate = $190

I called today and they said no go on the additional $10 off because the 20% discount doesn't apply to this sale price, the csr said that about 55% of their calls today have been on this card and they expect the backorders to begin shipping in the next 3 days or so......fwiw

I tried calling, but they're offices are closed today.

I have been trying to order this card and keep getting the same thing.
In prior deals from MC others have posted the same yet I have had no problems TILL THIS ONE!
And yes I cleared cookies. Copied address from CC website. Used IE, Netscape, and Opera, on two different systems. Same Broadband connection though.
Guess its the luck of the draw.
30 minutes till they are on the phones so I will just call.

I had tried all the things you mentioned as well, very bizarre. Then I went back and tried a *4th* card, this one a debit card on my husbands checking account, and that one worked. I have no clue why it wouldn't take the other 3 cards. I know there was nothing wrong with them, as I used 2 of them to order from other stores during the same time period.

Now I just hope it isn't backordered for me also. I did receive a confirmation email yesterday, but I don't remember it having a tracking number in it.

Tracking number comes in a seperate email.
Confirmation email bascially says they received your order. The other email you will get is possibly an email with the tracking number.

Just got mine from the Irvine/Tustin store.

Pre-tax cost of $239.99. With tax $258.59. I called this morning and they had 32 in stock and going fast. I actually bought it online for $269 and when I went into the store, they gave me $10 back.

Same situation here. I ordered online for in-store pickup @ $250 + tax. When I picked it up, they automatically knocked off another $10. Out the door cost was $256. After all is done, it will cost me $256 - $50 (MIR) - $75 (sold 9800) = $131. The box has a $399.99 sticker on it.

jlcampbell, thanks for finding & posting a great deal!

Forgot to mention that it installed without a hitch and smokes my old 9800 with a 158% gain in 3Dmark03.

Please do tell where it be $249?:disgust:
When you said something like this please show the total. It could have been $199 + $40 or $249 + $40 or $299 + $40 or $349 + $40. So what is it? Thanks

Doesn't this need a title overhaul? This price is appearently good until the 14th according to the e-mail that was sent out? And it is definitly hot, so you can ixnay on the "or not" portion. Oh yeah and I was under the impression that this is dual DVI (which sweetens the deal). Can anyone confirm for me?

Deal is dead (for now) for online orders as they're on back order. Check your nearest B&M if you want one.

The 7800gt may not be $250.00 right now, but it has been as low as $230.00.

newegg had the EVGA 7800gt with the free motherboard for $330.00 shipped with no rebates, and the motherboar is worth atleast $100.00, and that make the card $230.00

this is def the best agp card for this price right now, but if you gonna spend this kind of money i would just make the jump to PCI-E for the extra $100.00

this would have cost me $225.00 after rebate, because of tax and shipping , so i would rather just get the evga comb deal and have a better card, and have sli, and many other upgrade oportunites in the future with the PCI-E SLI motherboard.

not trying to crap anybodys thread, just trying to give other options.

Just guessing here, but I think there will be more deals similar to this one (or slightly better) for the X800XT and X850XT cards. ATI supposedly took a large write-off for selling "high end" chips at "depreciated prices" in their quarter ending Nov 30, 2005. It supposedly takes ~4-6 weeks from the time a chip is sold until the manufactured card actually arrives at the retail outlet.

Based on the above, I'm guessing there'll be more deals coming up over the next 2-4 weeks on 16 pipeline X800 and X850 cards.

Hopefully, the above is true because I'd like to pick up a card or 2 for $180-$190 in AGP and maybe PCI-E.

I think this IS the result of that. I wouldn't wait for it to get cheaper than this. (In the near future anyway) Good call.

I went to microcenter (cleveland) sunday to pick the card up for $249. The sales guy wouldn't let me have it for that price. I told him about the sale, he said it starts monday the 2nd. So I went home printed the ad called the store told them what the ad said they said come back with the ad.

When I get there I talk to the manager show himthe ad he says, I know about the sale but it starts monday. You can buy the card today for $299 and call tommorrow to have the price adjusted on your credit card. I can't sell it for $249 because the sale starts tommorrow.

So I decided to buy the card. He goes to the backto get it but doesn't give it to me he says "I have to walk it to the checkout" but I wasn't finished shopping. So I have a manager with the videocard under his arm following me around the store helping me pickout motherboards. When I find what I want we go to the checkout and guess what price the card rung up as? Yup $249 ,I laughed to myself and during the drive home vowed not go back there anytime soon.

I spoke to soon. The mobo in the box didn't match the discription on the box. So I called microcenter monday and told themabout the service sunday and the mobo situation. He said bring the mobo back and the price of the X850XT is now $239 so I'm owed $10 + tax. They can't do price adjustments on the phone I have to come back in.

There were no issues when returning the mobo or getting the price adjusted.
Now installing new ATI drivers was a nightmare and a topic for another thread.
I'm sticking to mail order, driving 120 miles total is no fun and a waste of time, gas and money.
