So far I'm up to 3.12GHz with my 2.4C. That's running at 260MHz FSB, 5:4 ratio, 1.6V, 39 C idle, up to 52 C load. My hardware is: Abit IS7-E, 512MB GeIL Golden Dragon Dual Channel DDR (2x 256MB) DDR400/PC3200, Zalman 7000Cu HSF.

These start out at a 200 FSB on the memory, so 5:4 or even 3:2 is the way to go. According to overclockers.com, 3:2 is actually even faster as you raise the FSB because of reduced latency, and the fact that as the bus widens memory bandwidth becomes less important for the P4.

He almost certainly has it 1:1. Must go 5:4 or just get a better memory. OCZ just released PC4000 which is exactly made for 1:1 with this beast.

Try it with 5:4 memory ratio. What you've told us so far tells us that either your memory refuses to go over 434MHz or the chip refuses to go over 2.6GHz. Try it with 5:4 and find out which one is at fault.
Neither. I've since moved this pup up to 3.24Ghz stable. The problem I encounter was Abit's GAT. Turned it off and this pup flys!

For those that ordered and received their chips from staples, what's their turnaround? I ordered last thursday and my order still shows as "processing."

Is this normal?

Staples does not update their online order status. It'll always show "processing."

My order came in about 3 business days.

I did. I've heard people either going extremely high or not very far with Costa Rica chips. When I get my new mobo tomorrow we'll see on which side my luck falls (if it's at all like my luck in everything else, I'll be running this thing very close to 2.4).

did you completely turn it off or did you just set it to auto?

Does anyone knows if Staples has the Abit IC7, if yes then what is the SKU#?
Thanks.

I went to order the chip and the CSR asked for the full 16 digits rather than using the 5 digit online, anyone got that problem?
Thanks

It is not time-limited and never "off" (unless Staples decides to no longer allow special orders from Ingram Micro).

Try checking over at Fatwallet. Since I ordered all my stuff over the summer, I haven't been keeping up with the coupon codes. I do know that Staples has been cracking down on them though. (Once a code has been compromised to the public, it'll stop working before the stated expiration date.)
