I'm trying to decide too. It's either the Asus P4P800 Deluxe or the Abit IS7-E. They're pretty closely equipped, but I've heard that the Abit is a kickass overclocker. I guess this might belong in "Motherboards" now, but does anyone have a suggestion?

Edit: The Asus is ~140 and the Abit is ~105

I'm also trying to decide between P4P800 and IS7 (not E version). Be aware that some Abit IS/IC boards have a onboard sound issue - you can read the Abit thread here. Is the extra $30 worth avoiding potential RMA's? Hard to decide - I don't want the 2.4C to just sit here while ABIT fixes the problem (going on 5 weeks now). Good luck!

I got the P4P800 Deluxe. I like the special features on the Asus, like the q-fan and it seems like it is slightly more stable than the IS7. Also, the Asus website give much more info than the Abit, and just comes off looking more professional. There are discussions between the two in the mobo section here and here. Have fun deciding!

I'm having a real hard time getting on this deal. Can someone help out?

I've called twice and two reps keep saying:

- we can only pricematch with the UPS Ground shipping price of googlegear despite the googlegear delivery promotion
- because it's coming from a special warehouse, they have to tack shipping on despite free shipping over $50
- when I try to add the coupon, they say they have to add $30 to the googlegear price because of a recent policy change

I haven't done pricematching before. The total they gave me after tax was ~190. Pretty lousy deal.

What's going on? Are these reps BS'ing me?

windsor, don't give up just call and try another csr or try the online help, that's what I did and had no problems even had the coupon added. They added $7 as a shipping fee, I tried to explain that googlegear had free shipping, but I had no luck.

Just a follow-up:
Was promised mine by 2 July, came on the 1st-installed yesterday, set it right to 250 FSB/3.01G/default (1.52) vcore and booted right up.
Stressed it all day, no problems!

INTEL P4-2.6GHZ 512K IM1894990 $208.60

Subtotal: $208.60
Coupon Codes:
xxxxx: - $30.00
Tax: $12.73
Shipping: $0.00
Total: $191.33

FYI: The Staples has the 2.6C listed for 311.99. I priced it against googlegear (218.00) making the 10% difference ~9.40.

Also, i was pissed to learn I can't have it shipped to a B&M and pay with a cash card :|

Well i Just ordered a 2.8C from staples. She seemed to accept everything fine even though she sounded a little annoyed, prolly knows 10000 people have called up and pm'd and used same coupon code so she gave it to me. But I think she mischarged me, it came to $240 after pricematch(110%) and coupon code, which doesnt sound right. I did the math and it came to $227. Think ill call up tomorrow and see whats up. But coupon code still works as does PM.

its 10% of the difference. like if staples has it for 300 and googlegear has it for 250 the pricematch would be 5 dollars.

Well I'd like to jump on this deal, but considering all the coupon codes have been edited out of this thread, I can't. And what are the HOPC forums? I'd just head over there to check on this stuff but can't find anything after searching for them.

And why are no coupon codes allowed?

Thanks

Just got in on the 2.8c deal, pricematched to newegg and got it for $227.27. Had to wait for the CSR to call newegg to confirm price, so I was on hold while newegg put her on hold, took about 45 minutes, but well worth it in my opinion. Thanks guys.

Ahh your lucky you got it for 227 man. Mine came to $240, they did the pricematch incorrectly on yours, lucky . They took it down to 266 first then applied the additional 10%.

So how much is the 2.8c originally? I might just upgrade my 2.4c that i bought from newegg for $185 a month ago. Speaking of which, do you guys think that upgrading my 2.4c to a 2.8c is worth it?
