Is there something I can do to rectify it?

got a question for those who got this pny card.. either 4x or 8x agp, 64mb or 128mb, did it come with a DVI to VGA converter? also for those over clockers... how fast were you able to push the clocks without any artifacts?

I have a "regular" 4x 128MB Ti4200 and I don't understand why everyone wants the 64MB version over the 128 rather than just bumping the memory clock back up to 500MHz for the 128. The 128MB Cards (not the 8X AGP, I am unsure of those) use 4ns RAM chips, which, when you do the math (1000/4ns=250 x 2=500MHz DDR), are rated for 500MHz operation. Nvidia has merely UNDERCLOCKED the 128MB version, so bumping it back up to 500MHz puts it identical to the 64MB version plus the extra 64MB. All you need to do to re-clock the memory back is use the "Coolbits" registry hack which you can easily find on Google. A 64MB card for $99 is NOT a good deal if you plan on playing any upcoming games with reasonable speed, even if it has slightly higher stock memory speed settings.

EDIT: If someone else already explained what I just did, excuse my repeat. I didn't feel like reading through 6 pages of posts to double-check. Also, I have my VisionTek 128MB 4x running at 315MHz Core and 560MHz Memory, which I am sure I could overclock more, but that's the highest that coolbits goes.

Well either you misread everything or you didnt even bother reading the first post. This deal had you paying for a PNY Geforce 4 ti4200, but getting a ti4200 128mb 8x agp card instead, and as reported by those who did get the 128mb cards the memory was clocked at 513 mhz.

lol, somehow I read everything on that first page EXCEPT for the last guy's post. Regardless of the 8X versions, I don't know why anyone comparing the 4x or the 8x versions would want the 64MB one.

COMPUSA in San Bruno, CA have about 12 cards/boxes on the shelf with no sticker (64MB crushes 128MB) on it. They looked fresh, really fresh as in new shipment.

At FW, someone (unknown CompUSA location) mentioned that all these new batches were 64MB, NOT the 128MB. That person got a sales associate to open a couple of them up.
Good luck everyone.

yeah, i just recently bought one from compusa, no sticker, but it was the 64mb version...so i went next door to best buy, and there were 5 boxes, 2 w/ sticker, 3 w/o (Mission Viejo) so i grabbed one, and luckily i scored. there were no markings one the static bag or the card that indicated 128, but the purple board made me keep it to check.

now that it is installed...my card flickers then locks up while i'm playing counterstrike...any idea?!?!?!

You gotta reinstall CS and download the latest drivers from Nvidia. My comp kept rebooting so I just reinstalled both (CS and vid card drivers). Hope that helps.

I scored the last "no sticker on the box" card at CC in Pontiac MI. Got home opened
it up andthe static bag was marked APG8X but it is a 64MB card and not the 128MB card.

Off to CC when theyopen today to return it.

It's still possible...I bought my card today from the local compusa and it reports 128 meg on bootup. The box had no sticker and the static bag said 8x. The card is purple and has the heatsinks.

Bought one at the Concord, CA Circuit City. They had 4 boxes (now 3 of Ti 4200 cards with no stickers on the front. Took it to the register, showed them this week's CompUSSR add (79.99 after rebate). They said they couldn't match the rebate, but after 110% pricematch they could do 81.99. Odd, but I'm just glad I don't have to hastle with any CompUSSR (you'll never see it)rebates.

Opened the box. Label on the card sleve/bag says "GF4TI4200AGP8X 128M". Yes

The UPC on the box says 51492 21937. UPC on card is 51492 22316. Card is purple. Has VGA, S-video out and DVI connectors.

Thanks to all who contributed. Great deal!
