i bought a CC $100 gift card with my MSN dollars, took it to my local CC with a printout of the Compusa $99 ad and pricematched the card...with the 110% PM it was $92 + tax...and it's the 128MB version

for anyone still looking the CC in Houston near the Galleria has 2 left on the shelf without stickers...just bring in a printout and you should be able to PM no problem

anyone know which one at Newegg to roder to increas my chances of a 128 card? Crapusa didn't have em in stock anywhere I went, deal is dead anyway.

If you would've checked newegg or googlegear sometime this weekend you could've picked up an abit 128mb for $119 or $123 respectively. Not quite $99 but a pretty good card with free 2nd day air. Weekend only deal though ,sorry.

If you're talking about the Abit Siluro crap, I read that there were quite a few people having problems with it( video corruption etc) , so I stayed away.

I replaced my GF3ti200 with this card and I have to say it is running noticibly slower than my GF3 ..... I am really disappointed. I was at least expecting a noticible bump up in speed based on Tom's Hardware benchmarks.

I am running and XP 1700 with 512 DDR......

Anyone else somewhat disappointed or have any suggestions?

Another thing.... The card kept asking for DirectX 8.1 so I kfigured I put 9 in and now alot of my games are saying I need to install Direct X 8 or better?

For those having problems , try reinstalling direct x8.1 after the video drivers, had a problem with games and though the PNY CD says install dx8 first I reinstalled dx8.1 and then games ran fine , plus make sure your sound card is DX8 compatible or that will slow down your system too

Try the one with stickers, it's the lower price of the two. I just recieved the one w/out stickers, and it was the 64mb version. I'm keeping it however, it's for my wife's setup.

That's strange, I haven't had any problems running it with DX 9; it's quite a bit faster than my radeon 8500.

Compusa has the maddog raptor ti4200 64meg for $79.99AR, is the PNY ti4200 64mb card deal dead yet if not I'd rather get the PNY and take my chances and hopefully get the 128mb card, if not, is the raptor ti4200 decent? Whats the default clock speed, anyone know? Thanks info...

I am running this on my ECS K7VTA3 with built in sound... (yes I know I'm a cheap bastard!) How can I check if it is comaptible with DX8 or even 9?

Just for your information, I always having problems playing WC3 (warcraft.... geez...how can you not know???) with my Iwill KK266 board in my main rig. But with no problem with my K7S5A... when I use my GeForce2 GTS. However, when I plug this baby in my computer, neither of the boards play WC3 anymore. After a few days of frustration, I found out that the power supply of my computer contributed to the problem. I used a turbolink or whatever 430W power supply at the beginning, and caused all these problems.... then I replaced it with an Antec 250W, every problem is solved. WC3 is running, everything is great!!!

Well, this may not be your problem...but if you are running your computer on some generic PSU, then I suggest you get a better one....not necessary a 550W one, but an Antec or so branded PSU may help the problem.

If you touch the card when it is running, you know how much power it consumes......

I am having problem with this card (PNY 128MB 8X) too. UT2003 and 3DMark2001SE cr@p out...GPF!!!
My specs:
ANTEC Smartpower 300W
ABIT KT7A
AMD 1700+
512 SDRAM
AGP set at 4X (mobo's max)
64MB aparture

My old 8500LE ran fine on both apps. I tried different driver including the latest 43 detonator, same cr@p. One thing I notice, if I have PNY installed, during WIN XP start up I can see the screen flash/flicker for a few times and then boot into logon screen. Last thing to try is to reinstall directX 8.1 but I doubt it cause it ran fine when I install my radeon8500LE. Any ideas? how' PNY RMA?

I've noticed some flash/flickering at start-up too. But I'm not sure whether or not that is something new.

3dMark2001SE made it through one loop. UT2003 cr@p out when the game begin. Also, the flicker only happen on this card not on radeon 8500.

I too get that Flash flicker thing right up on start up.... But I haven't crashed much.

I too get that Flash flicker thing right up on start up.... But I haven't crashed much.

Same flash flicker on my system too at boot up. Haven't crashed yet but I haven't been taxing the system. Ran 3DMark2001 SE once no problems get 11635.

While testing my new geforce4-4200 against my current ATI Radeon-7200, I noticed that the quality of text rendering is somewhat inferior in GF4. Font smoothing in Windows, does not work well with GF4-4200. Smoothness in GF4-4200 is only half as much as that of Radeon. (Large sizes of text looks amazingly smooth in Radeon). Is there something I can do to rectify it?

Didn't see anything on those links on how to see if my AC97 drivers are DX compatible or not.
dxdiag says mine is software only too. That doesn't mean it's not DX compatible though does it? Sounds like that means it's not a hardware 3D sound card.
