LukFilm, I bought it from this forum (see belial's post). His cables have the the same connector as the monitor (with the "-" pin next to the other pins).

Does anyone have any more information on this, or what cable to buy? Do we need a male-male, female-male, or otherwise?

This is still the hottest LCD out there, and I'm about to jump in

I just received this monitor, and so far I am very impressed by it's quality (Analog)in Windows. I ran the little tool from MonitorsDirect.com, and I came up with 2-3 dead pixels, but they really aren't noticeable at all.

The response time as stated by the PDF file on the User Guide CD is 25ms. So far I'm very pleased with the performance of the monitor, and my only trivial complaint is that the monitor cable is only ~4 feet, but that's really not that big of a deal.

Now I'm off to test some games (SoF2, Max Payne, etc..) and I'll report back with what I find

So did I, only 5 bucks for a cable. Well, 9 including shipping.

I bought a hard drive from esystor months ago, they had a good price on the drive but they dont communicate that well ( I think i had to call to find out there was a billing error) and it seems to take a few days to ship.

Ok here's a quick review. I'll try to touch on points that have not been mentioned yet.

I picked up two of these monitors so I have side-by-side reviews of each.

One of them had a bad pixel stuck in the "on" position in the middle of the screen. I immediatley called for an RMA and received a reply the next day with an RMA number and Hyundai address in IL where I could send the monitor. The email reply from eSystor promised an immediate "new" replacement from the manufacturer as soon as they received the RMA and not a "repaired or remanufactured" monitor. They did not have an option for advance replacement. I'll update you guys later on how good Hyundai's RMA service is.

Notwithstanding the one bad pixel, the quality of these LCDs is excellent. I was previously using a 14" 1024X768 LCD and found it to be very good. The brightness and clarity of these L70's is a big improvement over my old LCD. The build quality is also first rate. They are quite heavy due the solid metal base. I agree with the previous post regarding the placement of the connections. They are a little tight next to the back of the screen and could have been designed better. I didn't really notice a "wire mess" when looking at the monitors from a frontal view, however. The bottom edge of the LCD is close to the desk and does a nice job of hiding the wires.

I took turns comparing the display quality at 1280X1024 with different video cards and different cables. The results are a little surprising. First, let me say that even the worst combination produced good results and exceeded the quality of my previous display. The worst combination was using an analog cable with an Nvidia TNT2. This combination produced slightly blurred text and inferior DVD playback when compared side-by-side with my other combinations.

The "better" combination was with an ATI Radeon 7000 and analog cable. It produced a slightly sharper text and noticeably better DVD playback.

By far the best combination (and the one I'm sticking with) was the Maxtrox G200 Quad monitor card. It supports both DVI and analog. I tested each side-by-side and there was no perceiveable difference between the two cable connections. However, both the analog and digital outputs of this card produced much clearer text and brighter colors that either of the two other video cards.

Perhaps newer ATI or Nvidia cards with digital cables would have produced a better result, but given what I had there is no question the Matrox card was the best match to show off the superior quality of these Hyundai monitors.

I think these were a steal at $525!

Great, thanks for the info fafafooey. Could you play a few fast-paced games and tell us how the monitor holds up? The specifications say 25ms, so I'm just curious as to how true they are in real world performance.

Thanks!

Mine was delivered tuesday, but still hasn't gotten to my room. Stupid intracampus mail!!! I have an 8500, and will report on analog quality until I get my dvi cable (from belial, ordered yesterday). I'll try a couple games, a graphics benchmark suite, and a dvd or two.

Oh, I had it shipped to california, using a card from Texas. No tax!!

[Edit:] Still not here... I saw it on the cart though this morning. I'll get it tonight, but with any luck I'll be too busy to review it.
