Hot prices on DVDs at bestbuy.com... the Holiday sale has started!

I just pricematched a few of these dvds at my local Kmart. They also are running 10% off all dvds which sweetens the deal. I got:The Green Mile, The Patriot, and Braveheart for $10.79 each. Pretty Hot!

Kmart had all of the titles on the back of the BB ad. The didn't have many of the ones from inside the ad tho-.

Did you just take them a copy of the newspaper inserted BB ad? Or did you printout the DVD's from the net and take that in?

Can't seem to get a printout of the online prices... does anyone have a copy of some of these from the ad at BB showing BB's prices. I want to head over to my local KMART and do a little shopping.

Some of the rest I got rainchecks for since they were about sold out of just about all titles on sale. The pickings were pretty slim. Also they didn't say anyting about getting more than 2 titles at once. Good call on this sale. Thanks trots

The Best Buy horror stories going around on all the sites are interesting. The mob of crowds rushing the doors are making all the news reports here.

They seemed to be more consumer oriented than in the past. My GF ordered some games to be picked up at the store Friday. She was going anyway to get the price adjustment on the acer cd writers. She wanted to make sure she got the items and thought this was a solution. She got the confirmation email and we went in to pick up the merchandise.

The computer system was a disaster. They couldn't pull up any information. They didn't have her order pulled. They sold her merchandise when the store open.



By the time it was over she walked away with her pick of video games at 7.99 each. The manager kept saying we were getting them below cost but he didn't want us to walk away from the store upset.

After the 39.99 Diamond rio 600s and now this I am wondering if they aren't making a concentrated effort to satisfy customers.

My god their site is the worst. I cannot checkout to save my life. I enter my CC# or my address and it craps out to the login screen again. And picking out movies was no picnic either. I am still trying to buy my load.

I'm putting BB at suck-con 3.

Edit: It finally worked when I used IE instead of netscrape. I would recommend that if you are having trouble. Also make sure you hit update everytime before you hit continue during checkout; that seemed to help as well.

Well let me add to the horror stories. I went ot my local B&M BestBuy and jumped in to the DVD frenzie, there were people all over the place pushing and shoving to get to the movies. There were several store employees opening cases of DVD's and stating that ALL DVD's were 40% OFF, no limit. I asked to verify and they said the same thing again. There were people with arm loads of DVD's so I picked up a few my self (six) and went to check out. When I got to the register they rang them up at the original price, I inquired and they said the supervisor just told them the DVD's go at the listed price. So I immediately started questioning them, they said the sales girls made a mistake, I said so what, they told everyone that was the deal and they should honor that. Well I had to go thru a few supervisors and they still wouldnt honor the discount. I asked if they sold any at the discount before me and they said no, I know they were lying because I saw people check out that were over there getting DVD's. I went off on the guy and said that I didnt want the DVD's and that he might see this in the Local Newspaper's letters to the editor section. Really pissed me off. So right now BB is on my Shi_ list.

The best thing to do ,if you don't want to deal with the people, is get a raincheck for the DVDs you and go back when there's no hassle of the crowds. When I was in there the lines were winding through the isles at the checkout.

Website screwy. Been trying to order Fight Club since yesterday morning, got as far as clicking to confirm order and it would just hang.

After hours and hours of trying, I finally got my order through. Ordered Fight Club, LA confidential, and Shawshank Redemption. Got sencond day delivery for an extra $3.00.

Man, I have to say, BestBuy's online buying experience is the worst, ever! I don't think I'd ever buy anything from them again unless they have another bargain like this. Customer service was of no help at all. If their online ordering was not working, they should have just taken our customer information and honored the price. When I talked to them, even though they were glad to take your information down, they said that they couldn't guarantee any sort of pricing.

Well, don't give up.

bestbuy sucks. B&M and .COM

online sucks cause they use the cheapest and crappiest method of shipment, USPS standard mail. took over 2 weeks to get some dvds i ordered. B&M sucks cause they got some of the laziest employees. i was in line to return a tivo (don't ask why i bought a tivo from BB), line was a mile long. only one register was opened for returns. there were about 4 or 5 people standing around behind the counter doing nothing, yet they refused to open another register for returns.

last night when i tried to jump in on the dvd deals, non of the orders were going through. kept getting error msgs. i called them up this morn, they told me that i can't get any dvds at the price that was offered on friday and saturday. screw BB. i'm gonna stick with columbiahouse for my dvds. if i need new realeases for rock bottom prices, i'll just go to buy.com with coupons in hand. prob can't beat BB's prices, but less headache

I brought Fight Club and Brave Heart at Circuit City 2 weeks ago without any sale. Bring in the ad this week from BB to try their Lowest Price Guarantee. First they said no price match for DVD. Then no match with BB. Then no match this week regardless because everyone is having some sale. I am going to call their corporate office to complain and will fight all the up if I have to. But I will never want to shop there again. They just keep changing the rules.

Well, I just went on and it look slike the DVD page is changing...the DVD's that were on sale a few days ago are still sale priced; however the holiday sale logo has been removed and put on titles like TextXmen and Perfect Storm!......I can't wait! Hope it's not a mistake!

I finaly opened up and watched some of my new DVDs and what do ya know! the little yellow booklet inside says Buy 5 Get One FREE. Just so happens I got 5 of WBs DVDs So I'll send in and get one.Can't beat that!!

At 800.com, there is a form for a free Fox Entertainment DVD with purchase of 4 Fox DVDs. With this Fight Club at BB and hopefully X-men also, only 2 more Fox DVDs are needed for the free one. The mail-in certificate does not require the DVDs be purchased at 800.com. Fox is accepting receipts from March 21 so if you have old ones, they can be used.
